Better look for another company
We had our pool built in 2019. Based on several offers we decided to build with Waters Edge Pool. The price was about the same what other companies offered. However Kristopher Thiel made a concept where we needed only 1 pool pump for what we wanted. Others realized our concept with 2 pumps. This was the main reason for our decision.
Unfortunately we had not been on site during construction so we organized ourselves via Email. The pool was build in agreed timeframe. The pool is there but whenit comes do detail or quality we faced some issues:
1.) Umbrella hole in the shallow edge of the pool: We thought it would be a good idea to have an umbrella that provides shade when it is too sunny. It was realized, yes. But the hole is so inclined and as a consequenz the umbrella, too. Due to the slant the umbrella turns to the lower side when the umbrella in cranked. Wouldn't you expect to have a straigt hole to have an upright stand of an umbrella? Kristopher rejected to correct and said we can use it as it is.
2.) We have chosen a dolphins mosaic in the middle of the pool. It was damaged during placement and a piece of a size of a quarter chipped off. It is still there today.
3.) We planned a bench on one site of the pool. We wanted to have the whole bench tiled and selected tiles in his shop (of course at additional cost). He forgot to mark it in the pland so we had a separate email exchange on that. Guess what: The bench was anyway realized without tiles. At least there was a compensation for the additional bench tiles and we did not pay extra for the (damaged) dolphin mosaic.
4.) We have planned 4 bubbler jets on the rear of the bench to get a nice massage. In the plan the 4 jets have been placed at a regular distance to each other. What we got was 4 jets where the middle2 jets have about half the distance compared to the others. Of course Kristopher did not correct since 4 jets have been realized. That the plan was different he did not bother.
5.) We planned to have the bench 1.5 feet under water surface for a good seating. We fixed that in an email as well. Guess what: The bench was done in a different depth and is not even 14'' below surface when pool is full. Comment of Kristopher Thiel: It's close to 1.5 feet....
6.) The jets at the Bench and at the Spa are not even with the coating. They stand out and have a gap. Kristopher rejected to correct.
7.) After about 6 months a jet was pushed out of it's place in the Spa and the spiky jet was on the ground of the Spa. Lucky us nobody stood on it and got hurt. Kristopher Thiel repaired and fixed the jet with some additional tape to pinch the jet into it's hole.
8.) Waters Edge Pools built a retaining wall. The whole area is covered with nice pavers. The cage around the pool is fixed with tapcon screws in the ground. However they used short tapcons to fix the cage. The screws do not go through the pavers into the ground. The screws between the poles of the cage go just into the paver. As a consequence the cage when moving lifts the pavers from the ground. Gaps are between ground and pavers as well as between pavers and cage. I asked Kristopher Thiel during the 1st year under warranty several times to repair, but he did not. Now we have moving pavers ad the edge of our pool area and some fell off.
9.) The cage keeps all the insects out we don't want to have around us. Besides the gaps between paver and cage where they come in within 2 years 8 segments of the screen have been broken. My screen company that does the repair said that this cage was built with the cheapest Chinese mash that is not good for the sun in Florida. Replacement cost so far: $900 and probably more to come.
10.) Within 2 years we had several broken equipment. The salt cell was broken after 2 years and was replaced by Haywards except cost for work. The big LED pool light was broken and replaced under warranty at no cost. 1 LED niche light was broken as well. The replacement was covered by warranty. However when the repair company showed up they detected that the niche lights have not been built in as they should. The front end of the LED lights where covered with pool coating. So they could not repair. The instruction of that LED niche light states clearly that you have to put a cover on the front end of the light to avoid coverage with coating and to allow access to the pool light later on. Water Edges Pool did not follow the instructions. I asked Kristopher Thiel to chip away that pool coating, but he did not even answer my request. So I did it by myself and thereafter the repair company replaced the broken LED nicht light. Wouldn't you expect that a company corrects its mistakes when they did wrong?
Yes, we got a pool. In most aspects it is realized as we have planned it. Unfortunately some of our requirements got "forgotten" and others have

Kris builds a superior pool. We started late in Spring 2018, and construction moved forward at a regular pace. We looked at a few other contractors before selecting Water’s Edge because I felt Kris could build the kind of pool we wanted. We wanted automation, many lights, water features and planters. Kris worked with us and delivered an excellent result. During construction we wanted additional items, but Kris worked with us, was fair/accommodating and delivered. Pool construction can be a dicey experience, and some contractors cut corners or break promises. Not Kris. He delivered everything we wanted in a competent and professional manner. He’s easy to work with and responsive to his customers. All who have seen our pool are amazed at it and we have gotten many compliments. I would use Water’s Edge again, and I strongly recommend Kris.

Kris built our pool for us 2 years ago. Every step of the process was explained, completed on time, and spot-on. He was candid with recommendations on things such as lighting, extra depth, etc...We can't say enough good about him and his work! It is our favorite part of our home! The pool and the steps he built in it are a work of art. He handled the salt water system and the solar heating system for us. We have Waters Edge maintain our pool and equipment for us year round, and he is reliable, personable, and conscientious. We recommend Waters Edge to anyone who wants a pool built or re-done.

We shopped other pool companies before going with Waters Edge and found that Kris was, by far, the easiest to work with as well as the most economical. He was willing to make changes while providing his honest opinion on ideas. His scheduling of the building process was very organized. Other than a slight delay with a new type of coping we ordered the pool was completed on schedule. We are happier with the completed pool than we ever thought we would be.

We contracted with Waters Edge Pools to build a pool and pave the lanai and our outside deck area in March of 2013. When Kris met with us for the initial consultation he showed us a rough draft of what he envisioned would work. He explained the process and costs associated with the install of the pool. He answered our questions and told us to look over the plans and color choices of the tile, pavers, and smooth coat. We contracted with him that evening because we were familiar with Kris's work {he installed our neighbors pool} and we knew that the job would go smooth and be completed on time. We were not disappointed. The crews that Kris hires to dig and frame out the pool, lay the pavers, install the pool cage , hook up the electric and apply the smooth coat were professional, hard working and frankly amazing. Kris also lay & grouted the coping and tile around the pool. He checked on each stage of the pool install. We were told that the job would take six weeks to complete - from the first dig till the smooth coat was applied and the pool could be filled. As promised, we were swimming around our beautiful pool in six weeks. Kris suggested a few inexpensive features that were a big hit. A bubbler on the sun shelf and a colored led light.
Our grandchildren were so excited when they saw the pool for the first time. We are enjoying our pool immensely and it is a blessing to have in the heat of the summer. We feel Kris did an outstanding job and knocked out of the ballpark!!!

I usually do not write reviews, but I felt that Kris and his company did an amazing job with our pool construction project. He is extremely knowledgeable and knows the pool construction pool business.
