Working with Tad Fiegen and Western Housing has been a nightmare. He cashed the check and did as little as possible. I have proof, photos, and court documents.
Be careful of his boilerplate agreement. He uses it to avoid fixing issues, claiming: "It’s got a one-year warranty, so I have a year to fix it."
Issues I faced:
Failed Inspections: Tad illegally installed ductwork that failed inspection, hung up on the inspector, and blamed the basement crew. Cost $12,000 out of pocket to fix. Electrical failed code, costing $2,000 more.
Bad Siding: Installed un-caulked with damaged fascia. Sent a tech during a rainstorm who never returned, then lied in court saying it was finished. Paid out of pocket to fix.
Defects: Unlevel doors (their "fix" was a drywall screw in the frame). Gouged flooring he refused to report to the factory. Unaddressed wall cracks.
Ruined Tile/Plumbing: Botched shower grout smeared white over gray, clogged the drain, and punctured the shower bladder, causing leaks.
Insulation: Left low, then stuffed soffits without meeting code ($2,000 to fix). Tech damaged wall corners and paint.
Absurd Excuses: Left my screen door uninstalled, claiming a screen "lets air/light through and does not qualify as a door."
Sheriff Collection: Took him to court. After a default judgment, he refused to pay until I sent the Sheriff’s office to collect.
His sales manager, Brian, is complacent. Search Facebook for Tad Fiegen and Western Housing to find many similar or worse horror stories. Save yourself the court fees, repair costs, and headache. Go anywhere else.
