    check the non-funtioning garbage disposal

    A tech came over to inspect a garbage disposal which was complete dead. not working. the tech said that there was no electricity flowing to this devise, and i needed to contract an electrician before he could I spoke on the phone with the tech and told him to check the circuit breakers. he said he did. (that was a lie).
    He never checked it, because when I hired an electrician, the first thing he did was to check the circuit box, and sure enough, there was a beaker which was tripped !!! that was the whole problem
    the Whitney tech was completely inefficient and a dishonest.

    diagnose and repair faulty PRVs
    $1,500

    Whitney T Holdings was contacted by my American Home Shield insurance to diagnose a faulty/failing hot and cold PRV. I live in a condo and the system is within my unit and therefore my responsibility. This was actually a 2nd opinion, as the initial contractor's technician stated in writing that the valve pressure was high and yet submitted an "opinion" that this was a "pre-existing" condition- pipes make squealing noise- confirmed by building engineer cause- AHS contacted denied????? So, after demanding 2nd opinion- Whitney Holding tech came- diagnosed faulty PRVs based on sounds alone when toilet flushed(cold0 and shower turned on (hot)- never checked with gauge reading, confirmed verbally this was definitely faulty/failing valves( also explained why they fail quicker in Florida( hard water and mineral build up). Upon company's submission of findings to AHS - denied - must be building regulator problem. Again, demanded re-evaluation of issue- same tech returned and again diagnosed problem ( without measurement) and called his report into Whitney immediately- again telling me valves were failing. AHS stated Whitney submitted no mechanical problems with PRVs- in direct contrast to what he told me- neither time , I realized in hindsight, was a workorder filled out or presented to, or signed by, me. Total dishonesty by company- I can only believe that Whitney holding did not want to perform the work ( maybe below par reimbursement by AHS) and disrespected homeowner with false documentation!!! Never returned phone calls as requested for explanations. After reading other reviews, I see I was not the only consumer harmed by this company. Do NOT contract with!!!!

    Replace water heater
    $910

    I also had this company contracted to replace a water heater through American home shield. it started off okay even though it took them two days to set up the appointment even after I asked him to expedite the matter considering we had seven people in the house taking cold showers. the contractor came to my home and seemed professional and courteous and knowledgeable. however after that everything went downhill. I was told originally that there would be a couple of features that I would have to take care of myself and I told him I didn't have any problem with that, I could take care of it. upon talking to the home office however they told me in order for them to do the installation they would have to do a modification which would cost me $379 out of pocket. they said that would cover the cost of connecting the pipes to the water system putting a drip shield onto the water heater and installing a leak detector. they were getting paid by American home shield for the installation but they still insisted on me paying $379 for the parts that I got at home Depot for less than $50. what they call the modification was a simple installation consisting of two hoses connecting to the water system two Shark bites and a drip pan. the leak detector is not called for my code even though they insisted upon doing it. the entire hot water heater itself was only $425 & they were charging me almost $400 out of pocket on top of being paid by American home shield. I told him to forget it I got my own water heater and my son-in-law and I put it in in 20 minutes. these guys are crooks, they're rude they're incompetent and I wouldn't hire them again if my life depended on it.     Terrible. They won't pick up the phone, return calls, anything. This is through American Home Shield. They never showed up to the appt that I had to take off work to be there during the timeframe given. They also didn't submit the paperwork or follow up correctly for over a week. As of now, I still don't have a water heater, and haven't had one for 2 weeks and 2 days. Unacceptable service. Also charged $400 out of pocket for extra items that are not necessary by code (water alarm).

    Whitney T Holdings was contacted by my American Home Shield insurance to diagnose and repair a ceiling leak. They sent a plumber to do a leak inspection test, plumber said he had to redo piping, insurance didn’t cover all, made me pay $280 up front before repair was completed. Two weeks later they sent another plumber to do the repair, he came back and said it’s not the piping, it may be the shower bed. Called Whitney several times leaving numerous messages to find out what the issue was and when problem would be resolved, no response. Kept me on hold, and didn’t answer my calls. My buiz partner had same results, this is a rental property. Leak continued, risk of mold set in, we decided just to get our own plumber and he fixed it in less than one day. They credited our account, but that’s not the point. Terrible customer service, incompetent plumbers, they just didn’t care
