Owner/builder of an earthhome in CDA. Earthhomes are very energy efficient. My home is built of concrete and steel frame, with an earth roof. If left unheated, it stays around 50 degrees in the interior. A small fire in the wood stove and it is toasty warm.

In the summer, when it is 95 outside, the house is 70 degrees. No air-conditioning needed.
