We contracted Mr. Schrecengost, owner of Bill Schrec’s Flooring Service to install carpeting in our home. An agreement was signed and a down payment of $1,200 was given to Mr. Schrecengost on 2/24/19. We agreed on a date in early April for installation.
He contacted us and said he needed a hernia operation and wouldn’t be able to honor that date. We were understanding and pushed back the installation giving him time to recover. I received a text saying he would be able to do the work on Monday 5/6.
We then received a text saying his father needed surgery. We, again, were understanding and, again, gave him time to deal with his father’s illness. Since then we have texted and left phone messages to no avail. He either says he’s going to call then texts and tells us he can’t even talk on the phone or he just blows us off all together.
We haven’t heard from him by any form of communication in over a week.
He has had our money for 3 months for a 2 day job.

I contracted Bill Schrecengost to install flooring for me on 11/26/19, I used him in my prior home and contacted him shortly after moving. I wish I would of researched him prior to giving him a $4000 deposit as he cashed my check and like the prior review made every excuse as to why he was delayed in installing my floor. I asked for my deposit back and he informed me he couldn't because he already special ordered my flooring. I was able to contact the company he supposedly ordered from and they confirmed he did not place any order and the flooring I picked was always stocked. Upon this information I filed a report with the Police. At this point, Bill promised he would return my money-he has given back just over half and has not made any attempt to return the rest. I have given him a year to return my money and at this point I hope to make this public so he won't do this to someone else.
