I told Frankie that we needed a contract so that we could obtain a construction loan to build our home. After speaking with our mortgage broker, we realized the high construction cost of approx. $225/sq ft (including the cost of land) would be an obstacle to financing. When a similar home came up in the same neighborhood for approx $171/sq ft, we understood this market comp would hurt the appraisal. So we reversed course to purchase the existing home priced at approx. $171/sq ft. I informed Frankie within 9 days of signing his contract that we would need to cancel due to financing/appraisal concerns. He sent us an email asking for $50K even though he didn't even break ground at the property. We ultimately had to reach a legal settlement with him to end the whole thing. Please be very careful in dealing with him!!

He built us a custom home this past year. We are living in it now for 4 months and absolutely loving it.
From planning phase to final production FWBC was there to help us in every step along the way. We literally planned for years ahead, and he never asked anything of us up front and remained very patient with us as we ironed out the details over a multi-year planning period.
First off, and most importantly, the house is solid as a rock. Our house features 2x6 walls throughout and engineered way above the minimum required wind-rating. 50-year shingles, copper flashing, functional exterior shutters, and gas-burning copper lanterns add a nice touch to the exterior. The foundation is bulky and the house is super-efficient on my power bill.
I really love the clean, dehumidified crawlspace . .I could literally eat off of the floor down there!
The interior doors are solid and heavy. The fixtures and appliances are commercial-grade (wolf/sub-zero).
The cabinets are quartz and the dishwasher is quiet as a mouse (because we love to cook, my wife and I have decided that the kitchen is really our favorite room).
We integrated multiple antiques into our plan and Frankie helped us navigate placement and refurbishment of family heirlooms along the way.
BUT: there's more. The subs. They aren't really 'subs.' Each is an artisan in his own craft. We have three wood-burning functional chimneys and our brick work is immaculate. The trim, both exterior and interior, is perfect. Our stairwell looks like something out of a southern mansion. Its not just the quality though: the sub-contractors are all ultra-professional. I trust them around my wife and children. They are honest and always respectful. After being finished I feel like half of them are my friends now!
The bottom line is that the quality of the final product is really the selling point. Its premium. Second to none. Most days, for us, it's surreal.
I feel like I'm waking up in a 5 star hotel every morning.
I would give this company my highest recommendation!
