BUYER BE AWARE!
This contractor wouldn’t honor his warranty on a new home construction. After we closed on the loan, he refused to come back to do fix any problems what so ever. The concrete slab for our home is terrible. It isn’t level at all. When we moved in our furniture, nothing would level out. Lots of low/ high areas. Sheetrock work/ paint work is terrible. Tile on porch is terrible. It’s not level. Water collects in puddles in the low areas. Land grading is terrible. Driveway and sidewalk concrete work is terrible. The roof framing needed more bracing. I had to hire a structural engineer. The vinyl siding looks terrible. I have windows that wouldn’t close. All the windows had gaps that were too big. Lots of air coming through. All the windows had to be repaired. 4 windows were missing screens. All my exterior and interior doors had to be repaired and shimmed. They all had unacceptable gaps and didn’t close properly. This contractor is a novice. He is new to the business. He appeared to do quality work but, in the end he refused to do a good finish on the home. Again, Steven Dyes, Jr. refused to fix anything after closing. He refused to take our offer with a VA loan. We had to go with a conventional. He has cost us so much more money than we ever dreamed of.
Buyer be aware! We regret ever meeting this guy.
