Wire Nuts provided the electrical work for my kitchen remodel. We were initially quoted $1000 for the job. The day before work was due to start, I was informed that the quote increased to $1500; after the electrician left the job site he deemed it necessary to re-wire the entire kitchen, therefore increasing the quote.
When I inquired as to why the kitchen the needed to re-wired I was not given a clear or understandable answer. The electrician did not need to re-wire the entire kitchen, after inspecting the work done, all he had to do was pull the wires through the top of the ceiling. He put in fluorescent lights instead of incandescent, when I asked for incandescent lights, and the plugs that were wired were done incorrectly. I had to change the incorrect lighting fixtures and had to fix the sockets that were incorrectly wired. Approximately 1 week after the initial work was completed, I was forwarded an email by the electrician that referred to me as an "a hole" and demanded that a check be left for pick up.
I would not recommend this electrician. Although, I did question the work that was done, the professionalism of the contractor should have been to adequately explain the work completed without resorting to child-like profanity, fix the things that were done incorrectly and most importantly to be treated with respect.
