Very disappointed. I paid him ($1100.00) down payments for materials to paint my house, signed contact to start project for 03/07/2018, he never started painting, I can tell he use the same statement about his wife being sick to all the woman.

Very disappointed. I paid him for half (800.00) in three separate payments 200
00, 300.00 and 300.00 all in about 3 days of the project to paint my cabinets which about 150.00 of that was for materials. He put in maybe 12 hrs of work in a 7 day period. He had someone else with him to paint who clearly was inexperienced
He said he had a wife who was ill, so he had to work evenings, however, then told me he was putting his day jobs on hold to the following week.so he could get my job done. The workmanship was very sloppy, and he left the doors on to paint them
He completed maybe 25% of the job..which consists of one coat of paint on both sides on some of the doors. Others only had one side painted with one coat and all of the trim and boxes had to be painted yet and he was getting paint all over the hinges because he did not take the doors off.
I have not heard from him in a week. His last communication with me was a week ago and it was to let me know his wife was very sick and he would get back with me in about two days. I told him ok I understood and we could talk about other options about this job. At this point I was very unhappy with the quality of his work.
I have not heard back from him
He still owes me more labor to meet the payment I have given him
Not sure I will see him again -

Devastating
Won't finish project and still has my money.
Gave cheque on June 16th down payment
$250.00....took money and only brought 3 sticks of lumber..that's it...:his reason is bc his wife is ill.,I'm living on a fixed income and can't afford to just give this money to him...need to call BBB...Response from Woodsmith Services LLC February 11, 2018She gave me a bad check She then said she wanted me to do the work complete and she would pay me a month or so later .....cant work like that I spent several hours on the job i purchased left the materials on the site .... -

We hired this individual based on previous work, which was completed within a reasonable time frame and was of good quality. He had an entire crew at that time. We hired him recently to do some odd jobs that turned into a more extensive project due to an unforeseen situation. He had a single assistant this time. He did not arrive when scheduled and showed up arbitrarily. Much of the work that was paid for was done in a sloppy fashion ( there are still measurements penciled on the bedroom wall and clumps of grout are adhered to the bathroom floor) or not completed at all. More time was devoted to cigarette breaks than actual work. Based on the recent experience, we can’t recommend this person.
