We hired Douglas Brown owner of Word of Mouth Concrete (from Homeadvisor) and agreed on price and project to be competed on 5/15/19 and told him we needed to have work competed by 5/30/19. He stated it would take 5-10 days and that wouldn’t be a problem. Scope of work was to rep and pour an extension of driveway and a small pathway. The first day he showed up he was alone and said his helper couldn't make it, some days he'd show up and somedays not. He took $2500 the first day and insisted on cash or check, a few days later requested another payment, a few days later he said he had scheduled the pour and when we contacted him, he stated his truck broke down. Then tried to schedule the pour on a date that didn't work for us. It was at this point we figured out he was just making excuses to not complete the work. We texted him advising that we would be looking into legal action if he doesn't provide us a completion date, to which his reply was "I don't give a f**k. The matter at the moment is with Homeadvisor to reach a resolution.
