    Robert does not keep to his time schedule, does not show up, keeps demanding more up front payments after having completed no work, has no control over his employees or subcontractors. My house shows no progress. It is completely torn up and the deadline is to be finished in two weeks. He keeps making excuses as to why he is not here.

    From the very beginning, I tried to educate Kathleen on the process of home improvement since they hadn't done any improvements to their Arcadia house for over 20 years. I also tried to get her husband, who is very reasonable, involved and say more, but his opinions, as he said, "never mattered". Karhleen constantly pestered our workers, didn't know what style, design, or colors she wanted, and kept changing her mind on a daily basis. I tried to accomodate her by not charging her more for the changes she wanted. Then she wrote us a check for $13,000, a partial of what was due, and it bounced for insufficient funds. Then she wanted certain items to be finished before she can give the next progress payment, and wanted us to "get a credit card to use and finish the project with, then she'll pay us". This was her condition to let us "finish the project". We purchased ALL the materials for the project (we have all the receipts), delivered them all to the house, then wrote me an email saying she has terminated the contract. She never paid us the final payment, of course, and now we are in the process of obtaining a mechanic's lien against her house and collect our losses. In the end, I think she knew exactly what she was doing.
