My experience with Yerkes South, Inc was a nightmare. Christine is an emotionally unstable person who yelled at me more than once. Why? She tried to tell me what to do in my own house. She in violation of her license did the electrical work in my house failing the inspection but then wouldn't fix the mess she made in my dream closet. She even got upset with my handicapped nephew who lives with me for being handicapped, being himself. She actually told me she should charge me more for having to deal with him. After confronting her with inflated charges as well as false charges she was billing me for, she quit leaving me with her mess to finish. Of course, I did but I had to pay twice for the same work. And I had to pay extra to fix her electrical and construction mistakes. She put a fuse panel in my closet failing the inspection then wouldn't fix the mess. She actually wanted to leave a big box in my closet saying well the closet is plenty big. Ahh, but smaller with that stupid unnecessary box in the closet that you won't fix. It's a closet and it was designed big on purpose. My profile picture is the electrical conduit she put in my closet.

When I earned my General Contractors License many friends asked me to pull permits for them. I am not a residential contractor. In this case I agreed to do the addition as long as she understood I don't do residential. Ms. Carnley agreed and we worked together well for a long time. As on any project we had disagreements but we worked through them. I worked with the electrician running wire so I could learn and to save them the labor cost. The electrical panel/conduit was an issue and we could have handled it better. The electrician made a mistake by putting panel in the closet which they moved to the hallway when we failed inspection. This left a small stub up near floor level which they wouldn't move. I should have pushed it. We built most of the addition prior to cutting the opening to the original house where the window header would support the opening structurally to try and minimize disruption to her home. One day after it was cut we arrived onsite to work and Ms. Carnley let me know she and a friend the evening before decided to widen that opening themselves. When she states I was upset, yes I was very upset. She and her friend compromised the structure and I knew I would have to leave the site unless we hadd an engineer verify the wider opening was safe structurally. She disagreed and would not pay for an engineer. This was the end. I couldn't work on a house that was potentially unsafe. In the end we decided that we were done on the project. I went to the county and cancelled the building permit and let them know what had happened and the structure was potentially unsafe. After that I sent all subcontracts and information to Ms. Carnley to help her finish the project. I am sure she finished it and it is beautiful. I am disappointed to see this review after so long. It came to my attention a few months ago. Back in 2016 when she went to refinance the house I worked with her and her title company when they found out we felt she still owed us money. Rather than have to work with her again, I signed off on the amount owed with the title agent and via email we agreed it was over and done. Ms Carnley thanked me for my help with the title and I assumed all was over. My company does not and has never focused on residential. Our specialty is commercial/government work since most of my staff are military or civilian retirees. I wish her well and hope she is enjoying what is likely a beautiful addition.
