Zurbuch Construction Electrician
Dave, whose father also was a builder, began his career as an engineer for a bridge builder, a path he followed for 11 years. When he started his family, he wanted more flexibility and for his life to work better for a growing family. At the same time, he wanted to keep the hands-on aspect of the work and the sense of accomplishment that came with building. In 2005, he started Zurbuch Construction.
From the first screened porch to a whole house renovation, Dave relies not only on his engineering and building background, but the skills he has developed as the father of five. According to Dave, “It takes a lot of scheduling and a lot of managing.”
In his spare time, Dave is an active member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and is a member and volunteer coach at the Chapel Hill-Carrboro YMCA. He enjoys having fun with his family, hiking, skiing, and just being outdoors.
Dave is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Multiple instances of breach of contract. 75 day contract took 8 months to complete. Most days there were only two workers present. They had to redo a LOT of work due to very poor quality or illegal construction. They left trash all over our property, mostly drink cans and snack wrappers. We found razor blades on the floor and on our bathroom countertop that were left by workers. Our three year old daughter found one on the floor in the bathroom. The job site was shut down by the building department because Zurbuch failed to obtain proper building permits and failed to get in touch ch with the building department for three weeks before they contacted me homeowner) directly.
This was a horrible experience by a contractor who is vastly understaffed with workers capable of the kind of high end custom work they advertise. What we experienced was commercial construction quality at custom home prices.
Dave repeatedly failed to return phone calls or emails and displayed a high degree of apathy when confronted. Despite multiple promises to “do better” and a secondary contract dictating a completion date, he still failed to rectify any of the problems we brought to his attention and went past the second contract’s completion date by almost two months.
Do NOT hire Zurbuch Construction.

Zurbuch Construction did some upgrade and renovation work on our house. My wife and I couldn't have been more pleased. We were especially impressed with the quality of workmanship and the attentiveness of the supervisor and the crew working on our home. It was a wonderful experience.
