Electrical Work
We have purchased a new electric range to replace our current range. The new range requires that the electrical range outlet be located within 6 inches above the floor in order for the range to fit flush against the wall. Unfortunately, our current 50 amp, 240 volt, 3 pole, 4 wire recessed outlet is approximately 12 inches above the floor and will need to be lowered. Since I do not believe there is enough slack in the line to lower the outlet, an extension is most likely necessary. This would require putting a new recessed outlet in the wall below the current outlet box, which can then be used as a junction box to connect the short 6-gauge extension line. You should be able to reuse the 4-plug, 240-volt outlet. I can install the new range when it arrives.
