Deck into a screen porch or 3 season porch
I have a 10 year old deck (18x16) that I would like to convert to a screen porch or possibly a 3 season porch. I need to know whether or not the old deck can be made strong enough to handle the additional weight or if a total redo is the preferred way to go. As a minimum, the old vertical posts should be replaced. If possible, I prefer metal support posts. I want to maximize light and summer air flow.
