Basement smells like sewer. Cannot locate vent pipe or it's covered. When I turn on heat, the whole house smells like a basement. I had HVAC guys check the air ducts for mice, had the sewer line from house to street checked for tree roots (none), and applied Root-X. I have a dehumidifier running and still have a bad smell. Toilets are flushing, and the basement is dry, but I have to empty the dehumidifier every day. I have American Water Resources insurance, but they don't see a clog or issue, so I have closed the case. I live in an 1850 home with an old sewer line and am looking for a master plumber that will be able to diagnose and fix the issue.
