We thought we were going to just replace the floor in the kitchen and discovered the hardwood was rotting due to a slow leak (which has been fixed). Water mediation people proposed removing the floor and lower cabinets extending into the dining area. Now we feel it's best to just remodel and rebuild the subfloor, get new cabinets, appliances, countertop and flooring.
