NVS Kitchen and Bath - Northern Virginia’s #1 Kitchen and Bathroom Remodeler hosts a Clifton Remodel Reveal Open House featuring a custom Kitchen and Master Bathroom Remodel

"Hi, my name is Ashley and I’m the marketing coordinator at NVS Kitchen and Bath and today we’re in Clifton Virginia for a remodel reveal.

We love having these events at the end of a project when a homeowner has let us open up their house to their neighbors and let us show off their remodeling project.

Today we have a custom kitchen and beautiful master bathroom. We have people in the neighborhood walking through the house talking to different project coordinators. These events are so great because they give you an opportunity - if you have a project in mind, it’s invaluable to be able to come in and talk to homeowners - somebody who has gone through the exact thing you’re thinking of. It’s a big deal to have your kitchen taken away for 5 weeks - so what is it like to have contractors in your home and how was it going through the design process and making all the selections?

We have the owner of the company, project coordinators, and designs so if you have any questions, this is the place to ask them because you’re getting all the answers from the experts.

As we went through the process, we found out that the homeowner’s father is a talented wood worker and he ended up doing beautiful custom walnut tops all along the perimeter cabinetry. What’s cool is that we actually had one of these events 2 years ago and the homeowners from today came to that event and were able to talk to the family - get their questions answered and that’s when we started along the design process.

These events are open to the public and they’re usually from 10 in the morning until 1 a so just open any time you’d like to drop in and if you’re curious about any future events, we’d love to have yoU! All that information can be found on our website at www.NVSKitchenBath.com/events.

We’ll have all of our information linked down below including information about our Manassas showroom - it’s 6,000 square feet full of kitchen and bathroom vignettes. You’ll be able to see flooring and tile samples, countertops - it’s a really great space and we’d love you to come out. We’ll have a link to that address below as well as all of our showroom hours."

Kitchen Expansion In Temecula
This upscale kitchen remodel took place in the Spring of 2017. Our clients had just purchased this stunning 4,000 square foot home in Temecula and wanted to renovate their kitchen before they moved in. After a handful of meetings with our team and several interviews with other contractors, they selected Classic Home Improvements for their kitchen renovation and expansion.

The original kitchen was approximately 12×12 and it is now approximately 20×20 so the space they gained was quite substantial. The original kitchen area had vaulted ceilings which the homeowners wanted to keep. However, if they had kept the vaulted ceilings the inside of the home would have been choppy between vaulted and non-vaulted ceilings. To advise the homeowners of their options, we provided a handful of various designs for them to select from.

One of the most significant changes in design was the removal of a large river rock fireplace that was located in the adjacent family room. We removed the fireplace and installed a 10 foot wide, 8 foot tall multi-sliding door which maximized our client’s view of the Temecula Valley and their stunning pool. They love to spend time outdoors so we also extended their quartz countertop to the outside so they would have a bar seating area outside. The bifold window at the kitchen sink was installed into the countertop so food can be passed to guests outside.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES

  1. MATERIAL SELECTIONS
The kitchen expansion allowed for us to add a giant eating bar so our clients now have a ton of area for entertaining. All new appliances were installed including a Wolf range, hood, and microwave. Additionally they installed an ice maker and a steam oven, as well as their new microwave and Sub Zero refrigerator.

The kitchen renovation features MSI Calcatta Vicenza quartz countertops on the perimeter cabinets with Cambria Summerhill quartz on the kitchen island. Starmark Maple Bridgeport cabinets tinted white were installed with flat front doors in the perimeter of the kitchen. The island features Starmark Maple Bridgeport cabinets in a Slate finish, which matches the bar area.

Worked on a complete house remodel that took almost one full month to complete. Basically our crew had to revive a house that has been sitting empty for over a year and make it look like new. It took about 1.5 weeks to plan and pick out project materials. We started with demolition and prep work initially and worked our way to carpentry, painting, installation of mill work.

We just finished a set of dilapidated concrete steps by covering them in our epoxy stone. The homeowner only had two real options, removing the steps or covering them. With the state the steps were in, the only covering possible was the epoxy stone/rubber coatings we offer. Cost of removal and replacement would have been much to large.
I discussed how we would approach the job and the possible problems the homeowner may have in the future, these were very damaged steps. My products are not miracle workers. There are problems they can fix and those they can’t. I will never sell a customer something I know will not solve the problem they are looking to fix. And if it won’t, I am up front about it.
The project didn’t go exactly as I had planned but all issues were minor and by the end of the project, everything worked out. The steps look fantastic, our homeowner is happy and we finished the project within our budget. There isn’t much more to say about it than that.

We just finished an Occupancy Permit Violations order that included a list of around 15 items written up by the local Municipal Inspector to be remedied before an Occupancy Permit would be issued for a change of ownership. This items included a mixture of Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC and Structural items such as additional cold air return ducting, defective outlet replacement, subfloor/tile replacement, drain pipe leak repairs and structural posts additions.

We were hired to remodel an entire home for an investor to flip. The home was on the verge of falling down, it was infested with Rats and an eye sore to the community. The investor set perameters of what he is looking for and gave us the freedom to complete the design and material selections.
We spent a week and four dumpsters cleaning out the home. We safely removed the rodents and prepared the home for our men to work in. The home was a two bedroom one bath single family residence. Our goal was to add a second floor addition to make it a four bedroom, two full bath home.

We designed the project, completed the blueprints, submitted for necessary permits and began construction. We will complete a NEW Kitchen, two NEW Bathrooms, NEW ROOF, NEW Siding, NEW Windows and Doors, New Dining Room, New Hardwood Floors, Tile Showers, NEW Heating & Cooling System and so much more.

We will complete this entire process in under 2 months. Pictures will be posted soon!!

Historic preservation and restoration can be an unpredictable ride as seen in the new Byars Building site in Blanco, Texas. We preserved the existing front original double door; it was drafty, with a broken threshold and had old lead paint on the inside. Era-appropriate porch header and columns were added based on some original photos from the local library, two antique styled Roman coach wall sconce lanterns were restored that were bought locally from an antique outlet. The crown may be the added front exterior wood shutters with respect of the history of the building with its mortise on the window jambs once used. We all know about roof skylights that let the sun light indoors, well here we created an inside attic’s view in the main centered of the room. Visitors can take a take a peek into the attic and view the true size of 2” x 6” (1.5”x5.5” today’s real size) oak ceiling joists, the new LVL beams, the red oak roof rafters and the whole red oak tree with the bark milled as boards for the cedar shingles deck flooring. The buildings roofs is a recently installed heavy gauged corrugated panels and the front porch’s roof was restored.

Because the building is narrow (20 feet at the narrowest part), the city opted for an open floor plan which involves a professional engineer, foundation repairs, and two local master carpenters. Two centered covered wood columns and a 30 linear feet center beam was removed and replace with four 18” tall LVL beams.

The reclaimed red oak ceiling beams and columns are about 340 years old as of 2017 and it adds a sense of age to the building throughout the main floor.
