Be careful what you hire AAA Contracting for... Jake Daniels, the owner, is about as unprofessional as it gets. I called and spoke with Jake asking if AAA could provide a quote on some residential building repairs. The repair I need is water-related, but many years old; an issue before I bought the house years ago. Jake visited for an estimate and told me that he would need to remove the drywall to look at the problem and provide a quote. He was professional on-site and I trusted him so I approved this. He proceeded to tear down drywall the and then put in a bunch of drying and dehumidifying units that clearly were not necessary (again, we have had this issue for years). Following removal of the equipment, Jake would not schedule the repairs until I had fully paid for renting his dryers and dehumidifiers. After paying ~$4k to rent the equipment, I waited for a couple of months to finally get a quote. When he eventually scheduled the repairs he did not show up or even call. I emailed Jake about rescheduling; there was no explanation or apology, he simply replied 'I moved your start date to [next week]. Let me know if that week works for you.' I responded that it did, but that was the last I ever heard from Jake. Again he did not show or call, but this time around he will not respond to emails or voicemails at all. He has simply ghosted me.
So, I paid this guy thousands of dollars to tear the drywall down and tell me I have a problem, then he disappeared. I believe Jake saw an opportunity to make a quick buck renting out his equipment but clearly never intended to do any actual repair work. Quite simply, I was lied to and taken advantage of.
I tend to think Jake bit off more than his 2-man crew could handle, but if they are in over their head just tell me that. They appear to be nothing more than water damage mitigation hacks and they should not have sold me on their ability to repair my problem. I have nothing positive to say about my experience with Jake and AAA Contracting.
