Abel Maldonado is not his real name and there's nothing real about him except he is in the business of taking the money and run. He took $22,000.00 from us, lied about getting the permits which cost us a fine and fee of nearly $5,000.00. He will either steal your money and make you crazy with lies, he will not reply to your email with questions after he disappears with your money, he will then lie and say he had meetings with you and printed plans when it didn't happen...beware please if you value your sanity, money, time and house, don't even think about calling this smooth talking liar. I am finally taking my precious time to leave a review for your benefit and hope I can stop someone else from being subjected to his abuse and theft that is pretty much impossible to get back. The attorney cost as much as he stole. He knows this (I assume, because he told me to get an attorney if I wanted my money back for work he never performed because he just literally took the money and ran). I have found out months later I am not his only victim. He is a smooth talker, he will give you a very low price, take your check, have workers do shoddy work for 24 hours and then be gone and not reply to your calls or emails and then lies about not receiving emails, lies about the refund he promised in 30 working days....it's now 2 months past those 30 days. He lied about getting the permit and we were fined by the City $4,927.10. He's a smooth talker but there's a reason he doesn't drive a truck with Maldonado Construction on it...I've heard he has not paid subcontractors and has broken contracts with subcontractors and his company is well known for doing horrible work that must be redone. I know this is true because of what he has done to us. He said I can get a lawyer if I want my money back, well a lawyer is $15,000.00 to start and $400/hour so that's why others I've spoken to have not tried to get their money back. I now feel it's my civic duty to warn anyone doing their due diligence. No wonder he has no reviews, this I felt was a waste of time too, but I feel like we have to watch out for each other. He scammed a 91-year old man...I don't have words for how bad this guy is and he said he was charging us for plans he never printed and he was charging for meetings and we never had one meeting. The worst is the little framing his workers did....three contractors have told me it is not plum and then they measured and it's way off of what the architectural plans say. He's a smooth talker, Caveat Emptor
