Adam Alison is a peculiar man with an aggressive, dominating personality. A friend did some sub-contract work for him and he refused to pay even though he said the work was awesome and better than he imagined it would be. Adam also stated that he had looked my friend up and was going to report him to several agencies. I spent 30 minutes on the phone with him this week and observed dramatic mood swings during this conversation stating in one sentence that he loves the work done; then in the next sentence contradicting his himself. We found him to be dishonest and threatening. He told my friend that he had the check but wanted to look him in the eyes before he paid him. A time was arranged and Mr. Adam Allison was a "no show". Have read other reviews on Better Business Bureau's website and Yelp. One review on BBB suggests that Mr. Alison can be quite intimidating and sketchy as far as charging extra fees with no contract or warranty provided, as requested and promised. A second review on Yelp states that his personality is uneven and unpleasant. He went to great lengths to threaten my friend and wiggle out of paying him thousands of dollars. Cannot recommend him because his veracity is questionable and we found him to be deceitful and threatening. Seems to have a real chip on his shoulder. He also had hired employees for the job my friend did. These employees are not listed with the State of California's Contractor Licensing Bureau and does not provide worker's compensation. I discovered that workers compensation insurance and health care are required through speaking with a State Contractor Representative. The licensing board told me that this is illegal. Please read reviews with BBB and Yelp before agreeing to hire this man. Adam Alison's State Contractor's license is 947346.
