We got a number of bids. We chose Alpine because we felt like they offered the best value and their bid was transparent (materials and warranty were detailed and explicit). It was a hail replacement, and they were happy to give us a bid. Some companies fixated on how much insurance allocated and/or pushed back on a bid, saying they would provide a comparable roof for what the insurance would pay (and they were local companies). I don't have complaints about the process with Alpine, and we haven't had any issues with the roof. Our neighbor used a different company and had a leak and when he called them for warranty service they accidentally came to our house instead and said they fixed something, but I don't know what that was all about. Overall, I would say that I would recommend Alpine, which I can only say for about half of the home contractors we have used, at best.
