Miguel and crew were great to work with on our home re-model project (creating a new bathroom where our laundry room used to be). They were super quick, honest, and the price was much better than the other quote we received for the same job. We liked their work and trusted them so much that we used them to prepare our house for sale a few months later - including interior painting, updating smoke alarms, bolting in posts in our basement, etc. they did a variety of odd jobs for us - at a very fair price and were able to assist right away. I’d highly recommend them for your next home improvement project!

A dream and time destroyed by a contractor's unaccountability. My wife and I were excited to get the ball rolling on our dream home. We looked and looked and finally made a decision to contact Alcantara Construction based in Tukwila. We initiated to call Alcantara Construction because of logic; you see, there is a huge white sign along Sunset Blvd, across the old dollar tree and right next to Walgreens, in the Renton Highlands where we live. My logic was if people from my community trusts this company to do a huge project (a 3 million dollar project as stated by Miguel Alcantara, owner) then I can trust him and the company. Miguel was nice in texts, phone calls, and in person, and even had several good phone call referrals. He also had no complaints on the Better Business Bureau, one small complaint from the Washington Labor and Industries in which he explained etc.… However, out of the blue, with no warning, on December 5 2020, Miguel's texts were not prompt and all phone calls made to him were not picked up. Here are more behaviors exhibited by Miguel:
- He apologized but most texts were still not prompt and still never answered his phone when I or my spouse would call.
- Said, "We can get a refund." But no answer on the exact date with time to get the refund when asked. He would say stuff like, "As soon as I get Back." "This week for sure." "Has to be after the holidays." "I meant starting January for sure." We paid him 4k and would like our refund back.
- Didn't confirm the surveyors exact date even though he said, "I will confirm the date with you."
- Said, "I will send you progress drawings of the architect tomorrow." It did not happen the next day.
- A missed phone appointment
- Stated he would mail us a picture frame of a design of a similar house displayed (as a goal we could all look to; he never mailed it. This frame idea was initiated by him).
- Charging us for incomplete architectural designs with no pictures or drawings of work from his architect; almost 2 months has passed by with not one picture or design.
- Said, "We decided to switch the contractor" when Miguel himself initiated dropping us out from the project. He stated, "Hi, I really think I can't take your Project, I am too Busy, Don't worry You will find someone with less workload, I will refund your deposit."
- Expected us now to use translator to speak to his architect who only speaks Spanish to get proof of drawings. Keep in mind he encouraged us at the beginning of the project that he will be the one to work one-to-one with her because of the language barrier. He stated, surprisingly to us, "Right but You both can Use Translator."
