ALCO Construction is the contractor overseeing the new build for Erin Hills Estate in West Valley for the Rich Day Group. We closed on our townhome on August 2022. We still had a laundry list of items that need to be completed and at this point we are still waiting for any follow up! Our flooring on the second floor is uneven and ALCO decided to add additional subfloors in an attempt resolve the issue however this was completed around the existing cabinets. We have toe kicks with spacing varying from 2 1/2” inches to almost 4” inches. The grout in our bathrooms began cracking upon moving in and the grout around our backsplash is also cracking! We have been passed around from Spencer to Zach to Cole and lastly, Tony in the 2 past months for ongoing issues! The builders sales agent has been responsive in attempting to get ALCO Construction to complete these items but at this point we believe they are hoping we just go away like other home owners have already done! Our outdoor patio hasn’t been completed! We received a bid to get our kitchen and master bathroom redone and it’s going to cost us $40k+! On a new build! Our doorbell burnt out and the response was the the doorbell wiring runs hot! Our fire alarms sounded off for two weeks. When the problem was located, we were told by the new electrician on the job that the alarms were wired incorrectly! We still have not been given keys to the deadbolts on the rooftop patio and the water heater closet! The list goes on and on! Buyers Beware Tips: 1: I would recommend to anyone working with this company hire a home inspector to work you during your build process. We found that the sites did not have a quality control process which caused the redo of multiple major items in many units! Example: subfloors redone, broken or damaged appliances, damaged countertops, damaged carpets, etc. 2: Certificate of Occupancy is being issued from the city to close on these units. However once you close ALCO Construction is not completing the work promised at closing! I know of 3 home owners that completely given up on contacting ALCO Construction! If some of the items are completed, they are rushed and need to be redone! 3- They will tell you don’t worry these townhomes have a 1 year builder’s warranty. What good is the warranty if they can’t complete the job in the first place? What good is the warranty if they don’t respond? 4: Don’t take ownership until items are completed per the contract.
