ALH recently finished our renovation, and we couldn’t be happier with the process or the results. We bought a 1950s house this past spring, and our relator recommended ALH to us, since we were wanting to make some updates before we moved in. We got a quote from them, as well as two other contractors, and ALH’s pricing and availability were both the best we received.
The scope of the renovation was fairly extensive:
--Paint every room
--Paint the kitchen cabinets & install new hardware
--Refinish the wood floors throughout the main floor
--Install light fixtures in several of the rooms
--Gut the two full bathrooms & powder room and install new tile floors, tile showers, frameless shower doors, vanities, sink & shower faucets, and air vents
--Install wallpaper in the powder room
--Wrap the painted ceiling beams in the front room with exposed wood to match the wood floors
--Install luxury vinyl throughout the basement
--Install drywall ceilings & recessed lighting throughout the basement
--Install new stair treads on the basement stairs (we’d originally wanted to use the luxury vinyl on the stairs, but we’d accidentally ordered the wrong pieces. When ALH’s team realized the pieces wouldn’t work, they ended up installing different stair treads, painting them white to match our accent color, and then installing the luxury vinyl on the riser of each stair for cohesion. The end result is even better than we’d originally hoped and truly one of a kind.)
David, who managed the project, was personable, dependable, and communicative, and every single person he had working on our renovation was absolutely top tier in terms of both demeanor/professionalism and the quality of their work.
There were a few hiccups along the way, but anytime the issue was on ALH’s end, David was quick to call it out, own responsibility for it, and find a workable solution. Seeing how well they handled these situations spoke volumes about ALH’s integrity, and we are absolutely thrilled with the results of their work. They both met and exceeded our expectations, and we will be calling them back up for all our future renovation needs.
