By Mary M.April 23, 2023Install a whole-house generator.$19,000
I hired John Livingston last year to install a whole-house generator. He was referred to me by Buck Electtis. It was installed and paid for- over $19,000. The first power failure made it clear that 2 bedrooms were not connected to the generator. John said he would take care of it. The rooms affected had my alarm clock, ADT alarm system, electric blanket and computer He did not take care of it. After many calls which were seldom returned I paid another electrician to complete the job.

By Grace W.December 22, 2022Repairs on Generator.
I've been using Al's Powerhouse services since 9/14/2017 - till latest on 12/15/2022. I'm trusting their knowledges and honest estimates and diagnosis and repairs. I think some times their delay of returns calls possibly/because there's no secretary's to handling the phone calls like some other businesses and they do charge higher rates, but this month service call was right on schedules no delays, thanks to John, Jim and Tim for great family team services and repairs! The other larger company I used before was from the North, they charged me more than I expected so I changed my Generator services to Al's Powerhouse, I think it's more reasonable fees and when I have an urgent repair needed, they're always taking care of it on timely manners. I'm satisfied with their services. Yes, I recommend!

Multiple requests for a bid on a new Generac generator. I had already applied for Generac financing and had that all set up and ready to make a purchase. But NO call back after I left numerous messages on their answering machine. THEY LOST MY BUSINESS.

Had an two-hour window appointment and the representative was a no show. Called this AM and the response was that "don't have a good excuse." Don't think I'll be using them to provide a standby generator.

Al's Powerhouse is the authorized Generac dealer in our area. He bent over backward to get our project completed about a year ago. He came right out late this afternoon (Saturday) when we notified them the transfer switch failed to transfer. We live on remote Anderson Island connected to the mainland by a ferry. Very pleased with their service.

If you don't mind dealing with someone who not only fails to put in an appearance to observe the outcome of work being done let alone bothers to follow-up after his sub-contractors' have been to your job site either in person or with a phone call, text, smoke signal, ANYTHING you'll love working with this company. If you don't mind your phone calls being returned four days later you'll also love working with this company. Very disappointing customer service. When confronted about these things rather than apologizing they fail to take any responsibility for their actions and either "clam up" or make excuses for their bad behavior. My project came in at nearly $8K...you'd think I could have been treated a little bit better.

Tim Livingston came to do maintenance on Generac Generator. Arrived on time, went through complete exam of generator. Explained what was needed, completed same. Very business like as well as friendly and informative. Would not hesitate to have Tim back. He corrected what had been done before in error by other companies w/o criticism. Explained what & why everything he did or checked was needed.
