    install pool and spa

I signed with them in April of 2020 and as of today they have not even come close to finishing my pool. they NEVER show up when they say they will and lie and take your Money. My permit has been voided by the city of Palm Bay due to fraudulent paper work that they filed and they continue to lie and say it's not voided. I have paid the 80% of the money and not I have to look for another pool co to finish. I have none of my equipment that was paid for with my 25% deposit they required. the person that gave the 5 stars was probably them... they go on bbb and others sites under an alias and give themselves reviews so they can scam more people. Don't let them fool you.

    Pool
    $38,700

I did, what I thought, was my due diligence before I signed with Amore earlier this year, but 2 months after I signed I find out that no permit had been submitted, so naturally this upset me. Thereafter I find a Facebook Amore Pools customer page with overwhelming number of customer complaints. The page was created after I put a contract but left me gut wrenching feeling so I terminated my contract before they did any work because customers had over a year waiting and were left hanging dry. MANY MANY MANY customers have tried terminating their contract and have not received a dime to date. I was fortunate to get out of dealing with these thieves. If you're in doubt, do a google search or criminal background check on Brian Washburn and this should warn you to stay away. Brian and Chrystal are cut from the same cloth.

This is a classic scheme to defraud. Open a pool business with two con artists and a bunch of subs and very little experience. Undercut the competition just enough to lure in potential victims. Hire other cons to notarize documents and cash checks to cover the money trail. Secure government loans to obtain even more money. Show up every day acting sincere. Front load the contract. Collect huge lump sum deposits from as many victims as possible. Delay securing permits for as long as possible. Purchase enough pool equipment to secure the next lump sum from some of the victims. Buy fancy trucks and office front to perpetuate the appearance of a legitimate company. Do not pay the suppliers or subs. Blame everything on the subs and suppliers. Leave massive amounts of undone work over at least six counties. Use the victims money to lease vehicles and pay personal expenses. Move on to the next locality and start all over. When victims start complaining, push them off as much as possible hoping they will go away and hire another company. Some victims file civil suits, others just move on. Oldest scam in history. To date, they have raked in over $2m in unlawful proceeds. Do not waste your money on the Washburns!

    build pool
    $35,000

13 months after signing a contract to build (May 2020) we had to move on and hire another pool contractor to finish our pool.
Amore will say they "intended" to finish our pool but the reality is they HOPE clients will "fire" them and move on so they keep our money. We had paid 85%+ of our contract (per their draw schedule) and still had many unfinished items like deck, splitface, tile, ALL pool equipment, electrical, plaster, etc. Every week Chrystal and Brian would reassure us "they were coming this week"... our equipment would be installed "tomorrow" but for weeks and months these installations never materialized. They would send their employees 1-2 times a month to do minimal work (ie. fix a pvc pipe they broke, install a waterfall, ) but the items that really COST $$ and were left unfinished. Before moving on to another contractor (at a significant expense) I asked for proof that our materials were "ordered" or in their warehouse since they had told us it was. That proof never came.
They use the excuse of "covid" and "lack of materials" to push back jobs but the reality is 12 hours after hiring the new contractor all the pool equipment, tile, travertine was in my patio being installed. Plaster was available at the warehouse and is on schedule for install this week (9 days after signing with new pool company). Materials ARE available for those contractors that pay their BILLS. Sure, some have delays but that is why I HIRED a company to schedule and order materials accordingly as needed. After all I paid 40% of my contract by the time the permit was ready for pickup so that $$ was already in their account. I am sure nothing is 13 months BEHIND schedule.
If you are interested in a pool contractor that WILL EVENTUALLY finish your pool, go ahead hire AMORE.

The purpose of this review is to inform consumers of MY experience. Take me at my word or don't, just do your due diligence.
We knew of other "past" customers with beautiful pools finished by AMORE which is why we didn't do a simple google search on the owners specifically or a permit search to confirm we would be swimming in "3-4 months".
I learned my lesson the hard way, I hope you don't.

THESE ARE CROOKS! The scam is simple, they sell you a pool well under market value and take 20% deposit. After months of not doing anything, they dig a hole and take a 2nd draw, after that you'll never see them again!

    Pool
    $45,000

If anyone is looking to build a pool now or in the future, I do not recommend hiring Amore Pools out of fort pierce. I really wanted to like this company, small, local, and family-owned all the things you look for when you’re wanting to spend money and keep it in the community. Unfortunately, it’s been a horrible experience from the beginning and yet I consider myself to be in a better predicament than some of their other customers. In my opinion, they’re more than likely running a scam on people, but for the sake of those still involved with them, I’m hoping that they’re just really bad at business management. Hopefully, they’re able to turn things around and make amends to any customers that have had to hire other contractors to finish/fix their mistakes and also help out those who have ended up with liens on their homes due to unpaid subcontractors bills. Please do your research and if you have someone older in your life who is currently building a pool please get involved, it breaks my heart to know of people who have had to take out of their retirement accounts to finish their dream. I generally don't like to write negative reviews but I want to put this out there as I know that I would have liked to have found all this info out when I first started, and here’s to hoping it can help someone else from making the same costly mistakes.

Call your county building department and the also neighboring counties and ask about open permits and how many have been closed, also how long it’s taking them to close.
Check the business and the owner too in sunbiz, BBB and buildzoom also it wouldn’t hurt to interview current and previous customers.
When signing a contract make sure that the estimated length of the project and completion date are clearly listed.
Also check all of your inspections, engineering plans, and permits on your own. It’s all public info and as the owner, you have a right to access it.

    Build a pool and deck

We signed with Amore in February of 2020 for a pool with spa and sundeck, a built-in seating area, an outdoor kitchen, fire features, large screen enclosure, and a water feature wall. Permit was issued in early April and they started digging on April 15, 2020. Brian told us 3 months to completion, so we anticipated to swim sometime in July or August. Early progress was great, within less than a month we had steel, gunite, and plumbing completed, and had paid about 70% of total project cost.
After that, we started noticing delays, and by late June and early July, we started questioning Brian about the completion date. In mid-July, he promised we’ll be swimming in 4 weeks. Obviously, that didn’t happen, and we were promised similar timelines month after month. Travertine deck was installed in October, triggering our last payment to date. After that, progress slowed down significantly and has been getting worse over the last 6 months. In January of 2021, Chrystal even signed a timeline to complete our pool by March 8th… until today, not a single item on that timeline has been completed. Minor, low cost items have been worked on since, while we are still waiting to get equipment, electric, 2 fire bowls and fire table, outdoor kitchen, and plaster... basically anything of value is still missing. Additionally, Brian finally confirmed more than a month ago that we are ready to get the screen enclosure install scheduled, but Chrystal has been refusing to make the down payment to the screen enclosure company. She hasn't returned a single call since January, and is only selectively responding to texts; no responses on why she is not submitting payment. We have been extremely patient over the past 14 months, but refusing to make the screen enclosure payment (which we paid to Amore in February 2020) is a deal breaker and is clearly showing that they are not intending to finish our project.

The worst decision of our lives was choosing to do business with Amore! They can't tell the truth. They believe their own lies! We signed in July of 2020. Pool was dug on October 24 and we had to fire their pathetic company in May of 2021 bc they never showed up to complete the job! We were promised on so many occasions that it would be completed by a certain date. That was impossible bc they never ever showed up! They would come every other week for 15-20 minutes at a time. Ofc they front load their contracts so we've paid them 80% of the price and have a shell to show for it! All the expensive stuff that's left to do, they had no plan on completing. That's their MO. Check out the Amore customers pool page on FB. You'll see countless other families all in the same exact boat! They stop working when the expensive part of the job comes in. Don't let them tell you it's Covid related! That's a lie! Within a week of firing them, we had travertine and equipment delivered by a different company. It's not a Covid issue...it's an Amore issue! And don't even think about attempting to talk to the owner. She is a defensive angry woman who couldn't tell the truth if forced to! Compulsive liars!

The scam works like this. They take a huge deposit and string you along always upside down until you fire them. They keep your money because of “breach of contract “ if they are your contractor, get an attorney immediately. If you try to fire them without one they lien your property for the rest of the contract money. Get out as soon as you can.

My experience with this company was amazing. They did my pool and a friend of my families pool.

Side note: Im looking at the one stars and can clearly see its a bunch of angry Karen's that are just trying to ruin this great business with a bunch of bs reviews because they have a personal problem and had all their friends attack the reviews platforms. Their product speaks for itself.

    pool and spa
    $52,000

I signed in April 2020 with Amore Pools Inc. We were promised we would be swimming by July. As of April 26th 2021, one year later, my pool is still unfinished. Deck unsealed, electrical incomplete, no plaster, no heater, and splitface that needs to be corrected. Despite whatever LIES they dream up, here are the facts
April 15, 2020 - Signed contract 20 % deposit (Amore pools Does not apply for a permit even though Florida law requires this to happen within 30 days after Notice of Commencement is recorded.)

June 19th, 2020 – Applies for permit (2 months after contract is signed.)

July 1, 2020 - Permit Failed Plan Review (Was not resubmitted until 7/14/2020)
July 20th, 2020 – Permit approved and issued (Still does not start the project for 16 more days)

August 6th, 2020 – Hole for pool is dug (114 days after contract was signed 4 months)

August 20th, 2020- Steel and Drain ( Promised October 27th Completion)

September 2020 – No progress (pool over flows due to ground water and rain/ No pump provided)

    October 12th 2020 – Plumbing

November 2020 – Waterline Tile ( Installed wrong tile, needed to scrape off and replace)

November 9th - Amore pools License lapses in St Lucie County. ( City places contractor on hold)

November 9th, 2020- Given a written timeline with dates listing December 29th for completion

December - Form boards installed (Done incorrectly two failed inspections in a row. 3 inspections needed to pass) 12/3/2020 Failed inspection 12/4/20 Failed inspection
December- Deck started (deck still incomplete as of April 26th has not be sealed or sanded)

January2021- No progress (give a written timeline promising Feb 28th Completion)

February2021 - Split face started ( Still needs correction)

March 16, 2021 Electrical started ( Electrical still incomplete as of April 26th because Heater and lights were not provided to the electrician. Still to this date has not arrived).

    March 2021- Screen installed.

April 22, 2021 Stone tops placed on hot tub.

April 24th 2021Amore pools cannot get the heater listed in contract (T135 Most efficient heater on the market.) Offered a different one, more expense yet less efficient and cost more money to run

This is a pool company that has no supplies. They owe every local distributor money and cannot get the items needed to finish a pool. Due to Amore Pools mismanagement of money, lack of preparation, and inability to preorder and stock items I am delayed. I had to file another Notice of Commencement, because Amore pools did not complete the work within the window of 1 year.

    Pool Build

We signed with Amore Pools in May of 2020 and were promised we would be swimming in October 2020. Almost 11 months after signing the contract, what we have is a Gunite shell and incomplete deck. About 1/3 of the waterline tiles that were installed in November 2020 have fallen off. The deck was formed on December 29, 2020 and is still incomplete. As with most of the one-star reviews, we began this process elated to finally begin our pool build.  Amore has robbed my family and I of the joy and anticipation building a pool usually brings. Their crews rarely show up when promised and often work for a few hours, then leave with no explanation. Finally, the inconsistent and poor quality of work, along with misinformation from the owners do not meet the ethical standards expected from a reputable business.

    Pool construction

Let’s see… where to begin. It’s amazing that our story resembles so many other stories on these reviews. Amore pools draws you in with their fancy video rendition of what your finished pool will look like, and their great prices. My favorite part of their salesman-like spiel was that one of the two owners would be out to “inspect the quality of the work every step of the way”. What a joke. We saw the husband the day the pool was dug, Aug 2020 and only saw the wife when she was there with her hand out, waiting for the next draw. Oh, we did see her when she came to our house to put the waterline tile on the pool. Our rebar inspection failed twice before passing and, instead of coming out to see what the issue was, we were asked to send pictures of it to them to see it.
It all starts out great – daily communication, friendly responses. That is until they get the first few draws (the highest percentage) of your hard-earned money. After that, it becomes lies and more lies. You can never get a straight answer. We ordered equipment from them that was not included in our contract in November, paid in cash. This included a heater, an automation system, and deck chairs/umbrella. We confirmed that this was ordered several times, even asked if everything was in stock. The rude response was “if it was not in stock I would have told you”. Months go by and the only thing that was received was the automation system, that did not do all the functions that we understood it did – and priced about $800 over what the local pool store sells it for. The other equipment was never ordered, even though we paid for it 4 months prior.
We have a power line that goes over our pool. We knew from the very beginning that the line would have to be buried. We were told “we will take care of it”. We were starting to get nervous about the line. We were given two different dates that the electrician would be out there with FPL to do the line burial. Those dates came and went, no work was done. When we called FPL, we were told “there is a process that starts with paperwork and your contractor has never contacted us”. Those dates were a lie. Because of that, our pool cannot be completed until the beginning of May at the earliest – thanks Amore!
Last week we changed the permit to our name and told them not to return to our property, even though we have paid for this pool almost completely. When I went to the city to do this, the building department noted that there was a trend with this company, and we were the second person that day to change permit from Amore to owner. The waterline tile (completed by the owner) looks terrible, needs to be all removed and redone. The deck has many areas that need to be repaired. Every time someone came out to do work there was something that had to be undone that wasn’t done correctly. The riser for our sheer descent waterfalls had its decking completed, the next day the plumber came out to install the sheer descents – decking had to be pulled up. Always one step forward, three steps back. This is very aggravating when its 2-3 weeks in between work being done.
We were first told our pool would be completed by Thanksgiving, then Christmas, then we gave them a very important date to us because of a memorial service being held at our house of Feb 15. We were told it would definitely be completed by then. Here we are, not done. One of the sheer descents is crooked, that will need to be fixed, deck needs to be fixed, tile replaced. Every contractor that has come out to look at it cannot believe the poor quality that was put into our pool. Again, they never came to check the work – being there every step of the way was a lie.
Early last week, they finally came to pick up the rebar that was thrown into the side of our yard in September and garbage after asking for months to pick it up.
I could go on forever about the lies, the rude and condescending responses and the poor workmanship of this company… please if you are looking to build a pool and reading this – RUN! Do your research, go with a reputable company that has been in business for many years and pay the little extra. You will be better off in the long run. We know of many, many more people that are in the same situation that have not yet posted their reviews.

    New in ground swimming pool

I don't have much to add as my experience mirrors those of Barbara M, Pete L, Ann G., Molly C., J Lougren and Catherine S. It would be a waste of everyone's time to read my lousy review when there are already so many of them. Please call your local building department before signing a contract with Amore - ask how many open permits they have and the date of those permits. Then ask about complaints. This information will be eye opening.

If i could leave less then one star I would! This whole company is a Ponzi scheme, all should beware of doing ANY kind of business with them! They will dig the whole for your pool and leave it sitting for months simply because they need the check they get from YOU when they dig! then when they need money again theyll complete the next step! these people need money MORE then you want your pool!!! They cant even pay their employees because their pay role checks have BOUNCED on multiple occasions, how do you think they will pay for the supplies or equipment needed to build YOUR pool if they don't even have the money to pay the people working on your pool? I strongly suggest that if they have already started on your pool that you keep your money and find someone to finish because if they ever get to your pool before they go under or just walk away from the company you will not be happy in the end because it will still need work as they do a VERY half way job!!!

    Pool Remodel
    $75,000

We definitely DO NOT recommend Amore Pools. They started our pool renovation back in March of 2019. We have a very unique pool, which was also quite dated, & according to Amore, very unsafe! We complied with everything they recommended. We gave our deposit, and we were off to a great start with a beautiful design & some great features. They were quick to dig up our yard. They showed up every day. Things were moving along nicely. We recommended them to our neighbors who were looking for a new pool. We also referred someone else to them on Facebook. We were told that we would be swimming by August! August came & went & our pool was at a stand still. Our yard was a mess! It became one issue after another. The sprinklers took a month. We were lied to about when they were being done. We were told they’d be finished by Friday. But when I saw the sprinkler guy at our house that Friday, he told me it was his first time coming to our house. A fence was put up on 2 1/4 sides of our property by an unlicensed contractor who never even filed a permit! The electrician could not finish our electrical work because they were unable to feed the electric through the plumbing because of a blockage. Amore said they’d come to fix that problem, but never did. However, they lied & said they did. By the way, this was in February 2020! Well, that was the final straw. That & the fact that they would be working at my neighbor’s house all day, & then drive right by our house & beep & wave. All this while our pool was sitting with 1 foot of slimy, dirty sludge in the deep end for months on end! After giving them many chances to finish our pool, we finally fired them from the job! We were just relieved to no longer have to listen to their lies & unfulfilled promises! We had 8 other pool companies come out to look at our pool to complete it. Every single pool contractor was familiar with Amore & their dishonest & unprofessional ways! We finally went with a reputable pool service & repair company who spent numerous hours just getting the permits changed over & inspections scheduled. This company had to fix many of the errors left behind by Amore. We had many County inspectors who actually felt bad for us & what we were going through. We have had 2 of Amore’s former employees contact us because they were concerned that some things were not done properly & our pool was never going to get finished!! We ended up having to hire a second fence company who had to file a permit & then finish off the remainder of the fence so we could pass inspection. We had to hire a second electrician to complete the electrical. We had to have a 2nd set of engineering plans made up because Amore built a bridge for our pool, but did not build the steps to match the plans drawn up by their own engineer! Many of our sprinklers didn’t work, so the sprinkler company had to come back out. He came once, but when we needed him to come a second time, he never showed up. So guess what? We had to hire a second sprinkler company to come fix the problems. They told us the first company had used the cheapest sprinkler heads, so we paid to have those replaced. All of these services were subcontracted by Amore. All had to be redone & paid for twice by us! Now on to how we were treated...we started out with a great relationship. After we passed the date they had promised completion, we were treated quite poorly. We have numerous texts where promises were made, deliveries were scheduled...but never happened. Those texts are followed by excuse after excuse. We know their company began to grow. Brian is a very talented guy, but he needs to learn how to run a business & finish each job in a timely manner! Crystal mostly shows up when she wants money. I tried to talk to her, but she’d get mean & defensive. What another reviewer wrote on here is so true, “ they lie & then get mad at us for actually believing their lies!” They put our family through so much anguish. Our pool was finally repaired, plastered & filled in August of 2020! We are still awaiting the final inspection because we were told by the last inspector that our bridge needs a railing! Amore did not know that when building it? We have been contacted by other dissatisfied customers who have horror stories with the same plot as ours! We cannot let them continue to do this to others! Do your research!

    Pool
    $40,000

The above reviews are all true. I really can’t add anything more. You really need to check around and make sure you get testimonials. It really was a nightmare and very very stressful. The hardest thing was when they would say they were on their way and nobody came. Or they would be there Monday they would not show. And yes they would show up for 2 hours then not again for a week or 2. We did have a issue with our pool that now will have a permanent discoloration on the step. And other issues. It’s a real shame. It should have been an exciting time.

    Pool constructio

DO NOT HIRE AMORE POOLS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!! The owners of Amore Pools run their pool construction business with an uncomfortable mix of disorganization, disrespect and dishonesty. We put up with this company for 9 months and they did not finish our pool. The owners are utterly incapable of being honest and straight with their customers and they are extraordinarily rude and disrespectful when you become frustrated over their constant lies. They lie to you, then blame you for believing them! It’s truly maddening. I don’t think they were honest with us once in 9 months. Also, they rarely initiated communication, we would continuously have to reach out to them to be told these lies. We ended up hiring an attorney and even after 2 months of demanding a work completion timeline and lien releases, the owners still have not produce either. For a company that boasts about using very few subs, you would think providing the lien releases would be easy to do. The owners assured us they would provide lien releases before we signed our contract. They haven’t produced the lien releases because they likely can’t. Having all their subs sign lien release agreements is just another one of their countless lies. We were able to get some of the project completed by communicating directly with the subcontractors and then we ultimately fired Amore Pools. Now we will hire people worthy of our business to complete the project. For so long we have not cared at all about having the pool, we simply wanted these people out of our lives. We are elated to be done with Amore and are relieved that they didn’t finish our pool. Unfortunately, we saw this disaster coming. After signing our contract with Amore we were cautioned by so many people in the pool construction business who have worked with Amore or know of them. They all had overwhelmingly negative opinions of Amore and now we do too. You do not want these people in your life, on your property or even in your neighborhood. They leave behind them a trail of anger, disappointment, regret and cigarette butts. Do not hire Amore Pools. We cannot tell you how much we regret doing so ourselves.

Amore- if you respond to this review please do not claim you always communicated with us. Please do not say you were always polite, open and honest with us. Please do don’t use the excuse that Covid set you back time wise or that we built our pool in a busy time of year or that supplies were on back order or that your subs were behind. Do not claim that we have a custom pool- all in-ground pools are custom. Please spare us from more of your lies and excuses, we’ve heard enough. Just get us the lien releases like you’ve promised us many times.

Couldn’t agree more with you Catherine. I’m dealing with same thing. They are over 3 months past the deadline and no effort, might get 2 or 3 hours of work every couple weeks. I know of other pools besides ours that are the same way. Mine is that far past deadline and still not even my deck put in, supposed to be done next week but heard that for months, they will show up Monday and work 3 hours and won’t see them again for a week or two. My pool will never be finished. Stressed and so disappointed for something that was meant to bring me and my family joy but has been anything but.

    Install pool

If you want your pool completed correct or in a decent time frame you should definitely call someone else. They have the worst customer service by not calling you back and they lie and just tell you want you want to hear so that you’ll just leave them alone. I had to have another pool company come out and fix their mistakes!!! They seem to only get a step complete when they need the next check and then they do a half way job! I do not recommend!!!
