Francisco Javier Arteaga

I contacted Angi's List in April regarding the need for deck repair. Francisco Arteaga from Arteaga Construction responded. On April 14 he arrived at the house to give me an estimate for the work. He surveyed the deck and explained in detail what needed to be done. I also mentioned that I wanted to extend a cement slab in the back yard, and asked if he was able to do that as well, and he confirmed that he could. On Saturday, April 15 I received (via email) a quote for the work that I requested. On April 17 I let him know that the price was agreeable (we did not haggle) and asked when he could do the projects. On April 24 he emailed "I will look at my calendar and I will be emailing you shortly on a start date." By May 9 he still hadn't responded with a start date so I emailed him again, and again received no response so on May 17 I telephoned him and asked if he had forgotten about me. During that call he told me that he could start my project "next week" which would have been the week of May 21 through May 27. When I still hadn't received a response from him by June 5, I emailed him again, "Please let me know if you are unable or unwilling to do the work that we agreed to and I'll move on and make other arrangements." As of this date, June 14, I still haven't heard from him. I've waited two months for Arteaga Construction to provide me with a firm start date and to complete the project that Francisco bid on. I find Francisco's lack of communication and follow through irresponsible and unprofessional. Lesson learned; I'll not be so patient with the next contractor.
