  I would stay far away from this company. They are one of the worst companies that I have ever dealt with. You can see the complaints that customers have filed with the Better Business Bureau (https://www.bbb.org/us/va/alexandria/profile/heating-and-air-conditioning/atr-general-service-corp-0241-201628735/complaints). They are unresponsive when calling them, they lie about sending estimates to your home warranty company, they claim that they can only give you R-22 freon if your AC uses it at $100 a pound but fail to tell you that there is a replacement that is a fourth of the price that they are selling.

  Repair and install Furnance

  $2,505

  The company has very poor service. They had to service our furnace 4 times before providing a correct diagnosis. They failed to contact us with updates and installed the furnace poorly. We had to keep calling them to schedule appointments. The City of Chesapeake failed the inspection twice. They did not use the correct number of screws to attach the plate. They used one instead of four and the did not seal the furnace and door properly.

  My home warranty company AHS assigned ATR to schedule a time to come to my residence to determine why my air conditioner was not working. The tech arrived on time and I was extremely pleased with his work and diagnosis. This is when things turned bad. I was told that it would take two days for AHS to approve the repairs. I called two days later and was told that AHS had not gotten back to them. I called AHS and was advised that ATR had not sent them anything. After several more calls, ATR finally advised AHS five days after the service call. AHS approved the repair. It took me three days to get someone at ATR to answer the phone (see other complaints, everyone has this problem). They said I had to prepay $495.00 for the estimated coolant that might be needed. I talked to AHS and they said while their policy is that payment is to be made at the "time of service" they don't have any control over this. Finally, after two more days of no one answering the phone at ATR, I told them I was going to give them my credit card number for the coolant. It was now been over two weeks since AHS had approved the repair. I asked them when they would be able to schedule the service repair and they said that until I paid the $495 they would not order the part from AHS (that AHS was going to send them at no charge). I told them I would prepay but not until they received the part. They said it was their policy to get all money in advance before they even ordered parts from AHS . I contacted AHS and they tried four times over four days to call ATR to discuss this with them; they were never able to get ATR to answer their calls either. There are so many complaints about this company that AHS should drop them. My issue still has not be resolved but I am hoping that AHS will allow another company to make the repairs. Please is AHS assigns ATR for ANY HOME WARRANTY ITEM, ask for another company.
