This review is in regards to David Payne. I hired David Payne to complete my nursery as I am 7 months pregnant. The work that was agreed to be done was the following. Removal of sheetrock, placement of installation, new sheetrock, tape & float, paint. Ceiling scrap and stomp and drag with paint, install new ceiling fan, install trim to entire room around windows doors and base boards, and hang two new doors for entry and closet. Original discussion was a total of $1400.00 and the work would be completed within 72hrs. Work began on a Wednesday with a crew of David and his daughter. Day 2- same crew of David and his daughter. Day 3-work was supposed to begin at 8am but no call or show until 9am due to David’s explanation “My guy was arrested last night for warrants.” So he borrowed two sheetrock repair guys from his brother who apparently is in the same industry. They worked in my house until 6:15pm to complete the tape and float process. David Payne told me he needed to motivate his guys so he was going to buy them a beer so they would keep working. David also told me he stopped at the neighborhood bar and had a few drinks before returning to my house to check on his workers. Now, I will say the two guys who tape and floated the room did a great job. Work stopped until the following Monday. Day 4 work was supposed to begin at 8am, again no call when he showed up at 9am he came into the room and then left again stating “ I need to go get materials” this process of coming and leaving for material or a dentist appointment went on for an additional 4 days. On Thursday he said he needed to leave at noon, when he arrived at 9am for yet another dentist appointment. When we approached David on what the issue was with time management he said he would be returning Friday at 8am to complete the job. David Payne was a no show on Friday nor did he return any phone calls. Needless to say we tried contacting him on the following Monday and of course no response. The insurance paperwork David Payne proved to me was for Attractive Remodeling. I would STRONGLY advise to not do any business with David Payne.
