SHORT VERSION: I paid Ayon's Roofing $200 for what turned out to be a very quick "roof inspection" in which the worker shined a flashlight on my leaking attic (WITHOUT GOING INSIDE) and looked at the roof FROM THE GROUND.
Afterward, I contacted a different roofing company that offered a FREE estimate. That worker actually climbed onto the roof to look closely at the source of the leak and diagnose NUMEROUS problems that Ayon's $200 "inspection" had MISSED, which was ALMOST EVERYTHING. The other roofer was honest, knowledgeable, and quick, and I happily gave him my business instead.
LONGER VERSION: I spoke with two people at Ayon's Roofing. I told person #1 (Ramone?) on the phone that I had a leak coming through my garage attic. I asked if they did free estimates and he said yes. But I figured since my roof was leaking, I should have it carefully inspected. He said the inspection would cost $200, that it would take about 30-40 minutes, and that he would have to go on the roof to take a look.
A few days later, person #2 (David) shows up and says that he's here for the "free estimate."
"Do you mean inspection?" I asked.
He says, "Well, I can do an inspection too."
He goes outside to my backyard and looks at my roof from the ground. He sees a missing cap on my water heater vent and says that's the problem. But he can't fix it that day and would have to come back another day to cap the vent for $200 more. So basically, $200 for the "inspection" + $200 to cap the vent?!!
Then I ask him to inspect my garage attic, the one that's leaking. He opens the attic door and shines a flashlight at the inside WITHOUT going inside himself to inspect.
I ask how he can accurately inspect the roof from the ground and he says it's easier to look inside the attic than to look on top of the roof.
Then I wonder how he can accurately inspect the garage attic without actually going inside it.
After he leaves, I call another roofing company and that guy comes down to my house right away for a FREE estimate. Without my having to ask, he climbs onto the roof and shows me that the problem IS NOT just the missing cap, but the flashing that was mis-installed, a few cracked tiles, and rotting wood, along with a secondary problem with drainage at the valleys of my roof. I happily paid that guy to fix these problems.
ALL THESE PROBLEMS (except for the missing cap) Ayon's Roofing did NOT mention at all. In hindsight, I feel VERY lucky that I paid the other roofing company to repair my roof; in my opinion, if I had paid Ayon's Roofing to only cap the vent, it's possible that the other problems the other roofer found would continue to damage the roof.

David and team worked hard to meet our needs. I'm very appreciative of the initial work he did. There was some misunderstandings and I take accountability for that. We did agree that after my new railings were installed Ayon would come back to seal the base plates. I also noticed some bubbling in the roofing material and was assured those issues would also be taken care of.
I contacted Ayon at the end of Feb, middle of March, end of April and yesterday to see when they would come out to address the remaining issues. They did try to go out to the house at the end of Feb but we weren't home at that time. We don't live at this location full time. Since my last contact with them in late Feb, I haven't heard back after several text messages and voicemails. I also left message since I was concerned for their health given the COVID situation.
So I guess I've been ghosted by this company. Too bad we had more work to be done in the near future.

Hired to do a roof repair, $550.00. Took about an hour with a two year warranty. When his repair blew off in the first wind I called him to come fix it; he said he would. He never showed and no longer replied to calls or text.
Come to find out he's not licensed or insured. This guy is a complete LIAR
