I say don't use him because.....We hired Kent in October 2012 to replace our roof from damage caused by Hurricane Isaac. He was recommended by a friend. His work seems accurate and his price seemed fair.
From January 2013 through May my husband and I called and texted Kent NUMEROUS times to begin work on the inside house damage caused by Isaac - the majority of it was sheetrock ceiling damage. Wanted him to replace sheet rock and scrap popcorn off un-damaged room ceilings. Not a big job so I guess that is why we heard nothing back.
Found another contractor. We let our mortgage company know we couldn't get Kent to respond to our calls or texts and hired a new person to complete the work. Finished the job and got our final inspection. We completed all the required paperwork for the mortgage company except getting a letter signed by kent stating we owe him no money. My husband and I have called and texted again NUMEROUS times to get Kent to sign the letter we faxed to him. NO RESPONSE. Have talked with his assistant. Nothing from her either.
I can go no further without having this letter signed by Kent. The bank will hold the remaining balance we are owed until we have something form Kent saying we do not owe him any money. Obviously if we did, HE'D BE BANGING ON OUR DOOR AND BLOWING UP OUR PHONE WANTING WHAT HE IS DUE. But since we need a simply, already written letter, signed by him, he is ignoring us.
