  Hired them and had to fire them about 2 weeks into the job because they are utterly clueless and could not even handle the most basic of ideas. Google Ethan Bates before hiring!

  Remodel house

  If you would like to get ripped off blatantly then this is your contractor. If you can call him that. Jack bates is one messed up individual and believes his own lies. Husband went to high school with him so we thought he could be trusted. Always do your homework. We put half down for him to completely remodel our house and then called and said if we want our money back we would need to take him to court. When does this become criminal.

  WE hired Bates construction to do work remodeling in different phases, that way not too much money was laid out. The first phase was worked on but only 80% completed. He was to remodel the old bathroom plus other work and and redid the new bathroom instead which had all ready been done two years earlier. He said that we would do the old bathroom in the next phase and no labor charge. He was to change the siding from cedar to Hardie board, he partially installed the Hardie board but didn't caulk it leaving gaps between the joints, didn't finish the trim boards even left off some of the siding and left it unfinished. All of the garbage and waste was left for us to clean up after he said he would haul it away. He was to do a special cost on the fireplace which was noting more than some cheap paint that flaked off. He was to do some tile work which wasn't completed, Then when we told him we were done with hsis poor work and wanted some of the deposit back he paid a portion of it and that was it, however when he came to the house to do work he drives a new $50,000 Ford diesel pickup. We turned him over to a collection agency to find out that he was filing bankruptcy and was owing over $150.000 is debts. We got stock with him owing us $2000.00. I would advise not to have any dealings with him. He will attempt to open an other business under another name and probably using Nichole Bates as the owner to cover up his dealings or one of his relatives to cheat people with his poor quality of work

  If I could give zero stars I would. Jack Bates is the worst contractor I have ever used. I flip houses regularly, my normal crew was busy on another house. I brought Bates construction in for a new purchase. They didn’t do anything right. I had to have everything they did completely redone. I have never seen worse craftsmanship. He should not be allowed to have a GC license.

  Would not recommend. Poor workmanship caused a leak in bathroom shower that lead to water damage. When “fixed” they never bothered to finish the job by texturing the portion of the ceiling that they cut out and left all their garbage at my house. Several calls and text messages were left unreturned for weeks before this review. Spend money elsewhere.
