  Alex Mosa and his company Bay Built was the was contractor I've ever worked with. It's been 3 years since he remodeled my house and 5 years after he remodeled my mother's house and we're still paying to fix all the damage his poor workmanship left us.

  A few examples:
  Our front steps that were replaced were not properly waterproofed so after every rain, water would leak into the garage below. Alex sent his team to fill in cracks with sealant, but that did not do anything. The entire stairs needed to be ripped out and replaced as the wood below rotted.
  After every rain, we would get a torrent of rain flooding our garage because he did not properly do our foundation and waterproofing around the base of our home which resulted in water intrusion.
  Our dishwasher was not properly installed and when our flooring started to warp, we realized that the unit was leaking the entire time causing floorboard damage, mold and essentially the dishwasher itself became inoperable even though it was only 2 years old.
  At my mother's house he redid the roof without using a licensed roofer and the work shows. My mothers roof and skylight leak after every rain and now we're having to do a costly new roof update.
  I won't even get into all the shady stuff Alex did with our permits and the fact that what should have been a 6 month job turned into a 1 1/2 year nightmare.

  This guy is not to be trusted. DO NOT work with him. He should not be in business.

  Finish remodeling

  First of all this guy does Not listen to Customers .
  He doesn't care about Your project, He only care about getting paid for pretending doing some work.
  He is Not to be trusted.
  He should be in Jail for what He has done to people

  Entire house remodeling

  Alex Mosa completed our extensive house remodeling a few years ago. He seemed very reasonable and knowledgeable when we met him for the estimate. He also gave us a great price.
  Unfortunately, most of the work he did was of a very poor quality and required expensive repairs that we are still dealing with, 3 years later..
  A few examples below:
  1. Soundproofing the ceiling of the lower level. We purchased some really expensive matherials, however it didn’t help us with sound insulation because there were not installed correctly. The entire ceiling had to be redone later on.
  2. Plumbing - the top of the line boiler was installed incorrectly, which resulted in a small leak. We alerted Alex about it on several occasions, but he reassured us that it’s nothing serious. 3 years later and the leak got unbearable. When the plumber opened it up - everything inside was damaged with rust and corrosion. We had to replace the entire unit, which otherwise was supposed to last another 7-9 years..
  3. Electrical - the recessed lighting was installed asymmetrically. The garage has no outlets, nor lights, despite the estimate that it would be included.
  4. Stairs - Alex used subpar subcontractors that simply didn’t do the job. Despite $$$, the stairs kept leaking after every rain, till we had to replace the stairs later on.
  5. Hardwood floors refinishing - again, really poor quality of work, lots of cracks left.
  Many things that were included in the estimate were not done in the end. Alex was rushing through the project to finish it and move his team to his next projects..
  Communication with Alex’s team was very limited since most of the workers do not speak English. Alex himself barely showed up at the house during its remodeling and we had to communicate with him mostly via text messages, emails and occasionally over the phone.
  It could be added that it took several inspections to get some of the permits we were applying for..
  When confronted about the poor quality of work Alex became very rude and defensive...
  Based on our experience we can’t recommend Alex Mosa as a contractor... You will end up paying more to fix his work.

  Positive experience overall.
  This is not the first time I'm dealing with remodel and I know there's always a problem sooner or later but those guys will get the stuff done no matter what and to me this is the most important aspect.

  addition/remodeling

  Alex Mosa/Bay Built Co. built an addition for us in SF as well as remodeled our kitchen and two bathrooms. Very friendly crew and what was important for us fast. All inspections passed on time and the project was completed in timely matter.
  Thank you for all the extra :) little things around the house!

  Alex Mosa is the most dishonest person I have met in my life. His way of operating is by ripping people off.
  Totally untrustworthy, cheater and liar.
  Quality of his work is lower than of handyman and he calls himself a contractor.
  He only finds work because of kindness of people, but after he cheats them out money and trickery that he uses he has no work.
  He is totally irresponsible and ripoff artist.
  Stay away from this individual unless You want to loose money and have money to waste.
