We second Ken's comments! We have dubbed the Street of Dreams the Street of Schemes & Screams which we base on the worst imaginable experience of building a high-end home with BCCH. While the Street of Dreams is not responsible for the lackadaisical performance of some of the builders who are involved for this annual event, neither are they helpful when things "go South".
The cost originally quoted to us grew by 33%. A few of the sub-contractors were great, but the majority were awful. There were many "re-dos" and "re-dos of the re-dos". After the Street of Dreams was over, we prepared a punchlist that ended up being 10 pages long! As you might expect, there was a lot of dragging of the heels on the part of BCCH, and we were forced to seek legal counsel. At this point the owner of BCCH turned things over to his insurance company. Finally, after 4 years, we received the required funds to begin the repair process. Once the process of tearing out to start all over had begun, we were apprised of significant issues for which even our inspectors were not aware. Thankfully, this nightmare is behind us, and we are enjoying a well-fixed home. Buyer beware!!! -

BC Custom homes has been a very frustrating builder to work with. Prior reviews and homes seem great, perhaps as they're related to Street of Dreams and not small developments that they're working on and seem incapable of managing. The quality of materials and design is top of the line and we have no regrets, however finish quality is horrendous. Doors installed incorrectly, most windows not square and many punchiest items and repair addendum items not taken care of over 6 months past closing. We've tried working with the superintendent of our site, the owner himself who have said they'd take care of things, however after multiple days off of work and no-shows are left with a house that is not properly finished, exterior paint that is damaged and an incredibly bad experience that we're still dealing with. Buyer beware!

This builder ripped us off for $350K; we paid him and he didn't pay the contractors, so then we had to pay them again cause they had liens. Avoid Bill Winkenbach / BC Construction at all costs. An associate had a friend who used him too and he ripped them off for $250K -and they didn't even get anything built!
