Our experience with Blake Construction has been a disaster not to mention very costly. After three days on the job (maybe six hours of work) he decided we weren't a match and quit. This was after had ordered and delivered the windows and siding for the job and just left that on site. Didn't even have the courtesy to reconsider over the weekend and said he would call on Monday early to give me an answer. He never called or returned any messages. We found out he had pulled the permit request back from the inspection dept. While he said he would refund our deposit the charges he applied were outrageous and false. Took over five weeks to get our first check and it was significantly shy of what it should have been. He ordered windows that we were told didn't meet code and one bath window that would have come down to within 12" of the tub! Bottom line was we end up in small claims court and won a less than desirable judgement due to the magistrate not fully taking the time to understand the facts. It has now been over 25 days and he still hasn't paid the judgement after he said he would. While his quitting was a blessing in disguise the way he has handled his charges, commitments and not doing as he has said any number of times is more than reason why I share our experience so others may be careful. I would not give this man a penny of deposit money. Pay as you go and have an iron clad contract with details. Others may have had positive experience with Blake we clearly have not.
