    tree service
    $1,200

I would not recommend this tree service. He does not honor the contract. And he does not complete a job correctly. I had a contract to cut a tree down and cut the wood to 18 inches. He left over 100 pieces of wood greater than 22 inches. He would not come back and cut the wood to the size in the contract.

Remove three large trees, grind two stumps, tree pruning
    $3,500

We were left extremely disappointed at the end of the job done by Bob’s Tree Service. Bob and his crew have done work for our family before, so we were happy when he said he would match our lowest estimate for taking down three large trees in our backyard; however, we would not recommend Bob’s Tree Service to anyone else after this experience.

Bob, the owner, gave us a tentative date and said he would call the evening before to confirm. We called twice the night before after not hearing from him, once at 7:30 and once at 9:00, but he did not call us back until the next morning to tell us he couldn’t come that day. This was unprofessional, but seeing as how he has done work for our family before, we hoped that it was just a one-time lapse.

We scheduled a new date, and the first day of the job went well. We signed the contract for the agreed upon amount and the workers were extremely friendly. The second day on the job, Bob said that he thought he was actually going to lose money on the job and asked if we could raise the price $250 extra. This seemed a bit odd to us, seeing as how we negotiated a price with him that would secure him the job rather than going with the company who originally gave us the lower estimate. We told him that we had put aside the original amount we signed a contract for, but we also had $200 extra for tip, so it would bring the actual total up close to what he asked.

At around 5:00 pm on the third day, their equipment caused damage to our driveway, so we only gave them $100 of the tip due to the added cost of fixing the driveway now. He said goodbye in a rush and left before stacking half the wood. I am 21-weeks pregnant and cannot help my husband stack the wood, so we asked Bob if they would stack the wood on the first day. He said yes, and we talked about an area to stack the wood; however, they did not stay true to their word. I called immediately and left a voicemail stating I was extremely disappointed that they did not stack the other half of the wood. Bob called me back and said that they had “put in three days of work and only got paid for two” (despite the fact that we paid him $100 over the agreed upon amount) and that we had “never discussed” stacking the wood. I assured him that it was one of the first things we discussed seeing as how I am pregnant and wanted to be sure it was up and off the lawn, but he stated that discussion “never happened”.

Unfortunately, Bob accepted a job at a price that apparently wasn’t high enough for him, and because of his terrible judgment, he rushed the end of the job, cracked our driveway trying to leave in a hurry, claimed that we didn’t “pay him” , and did not stick by his word of stacking the wood. I will not be recommending his company to anyone in the future.
