Bubookz Construction made a proposal and mentioned that no permit was needed. A contract was signed and an agreement was made on not to exceed a certain total project value. I went to City Hall and found out a permit was needed as well as construction plans and engineering. Bubookz Construction stated that the project as proposed most likely would not pass such requirements. I asked to include these costs in the existing proposal but Bubookz Construction declined saying these new costs were on me. These costs would push the total project cost beyond what we had agreed on.
It is clear to me now that Bubooks Construction knew that permits would be required and that this would entail having drawings and engineering done but Bubookz Construction was trying to get away with it. They offered a design that they themselves acknowledged would most likely not pass the drawing and engineering and again later tried to do the project without them. Bubookz Construction now declines to reimburse the deposit made in spite of the contract not saying anything about deposits not being refundable.
Typical bait and switch procedure, terrible business, I do not recommend this business at all.
