Very poor quality. The contractor over charged for the job done. We thought the quality must be good but it was a total disappointment.
1. We noticed some squeaking spots on the floor and instead of replacing the plywood, he put a stick under the floor and now it has a big bump on it. We claimed the issue and he replied back stating that the job was not done (even though he did a "ritual with no shoes with the flooring all cleaned" to release the job on it).
2. Called for a final home inspection and there were pending items therefore we did not get the ok from the city. As any construction we had several home inspections as it was maturing, one for electrical, plumbing, walls, etc., in all of them there were action items as expected. Well, the contractor did not close them for next inspections, we noticed that he did not check the pending items until one day prior to the inspection. At the end the items weren't ready even for the final inspection (after 4 already done) and now we have to pay again for inspections.
3. Painted walls of HIS choice of color. The contractor was told to do not paint because we were planning to use another color and remove the texture. Well he went a head and "did a match" to existing color which was an old house so imagine the displeasure. Now we have to pay extra to remove that!!
4. The drain of the sink on the master bath does not work. The trap was not installed properly so we get about 32 oz of water before it gets clogged.
5. Kitchen cabinets have wholes where they aren't supposed to be. The assembly of the kitchen was part of the deal. Well, seems few mistakes were done to identify where the screws shall be because 2 of the cabinets have wholes on the front. Very unaesthetic! He claimed that those were already like that.
6. We did an estimate of work hours done (based in our alarm system to let them in) since they did not work continuously in a period of 3 months. Well their rate is $150 /hr. Extremely expensive for the poor quality done.
The list keeps going on but I think you get our point. It was so much anger and disappointment that we ended up with a balance settlement (which still was very high in my opinion) and closed the contract because we did not want to keep working with him.
