Completely agree with Karen L! Spot on in terms of what Ed is like. He will say ANYTHING to get you to sign paperwork and then do ANYTHING, including lie, to get out of what he just said. Ed is a cheat and borderline crook. He will not oversee your project and will be missing in action until payday comes....then he is all over it. Once he is paid....he is gone! Ed is a terrible person and even worse contractor. I have had many conversations with his sub contractors because I had to oversee the build of my house even though I was paying Ed to and even they don't like him. Ed, along with his broker, Dave Walker, have no qualms about telling you lies in an attempt to get you to go away. Many of the things Ed and Dave said were easily disputed and when called out, they will simply lie again and throw each other under the bus to cover their own a**es. This builder is MIA as soon as he gets your money. He and his contractors do poor quality work. It might look good on the outside but once you move in you see where they cut corners and were not truthful in a lot of areas. He will tell you anything to make a sale. We had to get a third party to even get him to come back and make the one year repairs. Some of the repairs were structural. Most of his subcontractors did come back but did a crappy job making the repairs. However, Ed Buffington did not come and do the ones he was responsible for. Now we have a quarter million dollar house that needs constant maintenance and some things don't work right. If you decide to go with this builder, make sure you get everything in writing and then have an attorney on hand to enforce it if you can even get him to communicate with you. I would not go with this builder again. Unethical. Save yourself the headache.

Ed Buffington designed our SPECTACULAR home with custom details few builders would have the patients or skill set to accomplish. I would highly recommend Buffington Custom Homes if you desire craftsmanship and elegance! -This is not a cookie cutter builder- Time and patience is what it takes to create art; and that is what Ed creates!
