    patio and sidwalk
    $8,000

I took a chance on Busano Concrete & Coatings in Spring 2023. I’m a Licensed Professional Engineer
practicing civil engineering in Illinois for 12 years. We had an $8k contract for sidewalk to get replaced
and a new patio to get installed at our home.
The performance by the contractor was underwhelming. The concrete thickness is short by a value of
approx. $1,500 based on measurements along the edges of the concrete. Trash was left in our yard for
days and wasn’t removed unless I pointed it out. Contractor left concrete splatter and broken concrete
in river rock landscaping. When asked for it to be removed, contractor refused. I was holding my 1-year
daughter and picked-out the concrete debris while contractor stood there, and contractor still refused
to dispose of it. Contractor used duct tape that left a residue on our house exterior. Contractor did not
clean all of the concrete splatter off our siding. Contractor extended and buried downspout drains which
was nice. Contractor accommodated our family being present during the concrete pour and notified us
when a good time for hand-stamping would be. Contractor used our floor broom to sweep debris off the
    driveway.
Giovanni Busano was my main point of contact. Text and email responses were quick through-out the
project. Communications from the contractor started very pleasant but then became more disrespectful
and dishonest as payment was received. Contractor seemed more interested in getting money than
doing a complete job. Contractor had difficulty honoring promises, both verbal and written. Contractor
was invited to our home to perform work in support of their family and in return, we were inferred to be
    liars and incompetent.
We have been fortunate enough to have very few experiences like this where we perform our side of a
contract in good faith and it is not honored by the other side. We thought I would have been protected
in these instances by Small Claims Court. Legal consult advises that in the instance of a successful claim,
you are still responsible for collecting payment. Contractor can claim bankruptcy avoiding any payment
to you. The contractor performed their work with rental equipment and is well-suited for an efficient
bankruptcy. I just want to make the game obvious for those who are considering doing business with the
    contractor.
I cannot recommend doing business with Busano Concrete. If you can’t avoid the risk, I advise the
following, but you will be on your own.
    - Observe them 100% of the time while performing work.
    - Avoid paying until satisfactory work is performed.
    - Make sure a full undercut for the gravel base is performed for replacement work. In my case,
undercut was not performed which caused the sidewalk to stick high above the ground. I was
told after-the-fact that I was responsible for adding fill along the edges.
    - Require and check that the concrete wood form dimensions match the contract’s concrete
thickness before accepting a concrete pour date.
    - Be prepared to say things three or more times before contractor takes action on them.

    Stamped concrete patio with firepit
    $10,000

Attention anyone looking to get a patio... DO NOT USE Busano Concrete & Coating unless you looking to waste your time and money with a company that could careless about their work and their customers. There are multiple reasons to why you shouldnt work with them. I will not list all them here for this post would be WAY TO LONG but let just say it took over 3 months to get a patio...when it clearly could have been completed in a month, the lines are not straight, corners of the patio cracked and were never fixed from day one (excuses were given to why they couldnt fix them), we had to BEG for them to get out and seal our patio, the seal was rushed, bubbled up and is extremely uneven, and now the entire patio is popping (our patio is not even a year old yet and we have holes ALLL OVER IT! Busano Concrete and Coating stated they will come out to patch the holes when they have time... It been MONTHS NOW...MONTHS...and they will not respond to text messages, phone calls, voicemails, emails and Facebook messages. Sadly, I am not the only one who has recieved terrible service from this company. I would hate for anyone in our wonderful community to get taken advantage of like we were. Thousand of dollars spend to end up with a patio that is falling apart and the company to leave us high an dry. If anyone want to know more details please let me know, I'd love to share my experience.
