By Wendy L.July 9, 2021Kitchen, bath remodel and new bath installation
I have been working with Carlos Calmell and his team for the past 3 years during the full restoration of our home in Vallejo, CA. I can say unequivocally that he and his team are professionals on every level and have done an excellent job. Carlos and team installed a brand new bathroom, renovated a second bathroom and installed a new kitchen. All are in perfect working order and everything is beautifully finished. I would and have trusted Carlos and team with any job. Highly recommended.

It would've been nice if Carlos Calmell the Service Technician for C&C Plumbing could've have lowered the amount much more for replacing a bathroom sink faucet. Although they did a great job, I thought the cost was a little on the high end especially since other plumbers we checked around were charging much lower for the same job. He started out at $430, but my dad asked if he could do the job for $400, and he said that should be fine. So I asked him a few minutes later if he could give Senior Citizen Discount for my dad & he said he would. I asked him if he could do the job for $300 because originally we were qua.moted by Home Advisor that the plumber could do this job for $180 plus cost of faucet. There is no way the faucet that was chose (pshifer) cost $200 (I looked it up in Lowe's/Home Depot). I can understand a plumber would like to earn some money, but the fact that Carlos was suppose to be at our location between 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. and didn't get there until 11:00 a.m. is not very professional. The original appointment was suppose to be from 10:00 a.m- 11:00 a.m., then it was changed to 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. So we all got up early and was ready for the plumber since 8:30 a.m. Comes 9:00a.m. - 10:00 a.m., nobody shows up and no call from Carlos the plumber that he's running late. So we called him to see what's going on (I mean as a courtesy, Carlos should've contacted us indicating he was running late or something?). For our inconvenience of waiting (which we never mentioned to Carlos when he arriver), we should've been charged a lower amount than $380 (too high just for a faucet replacement). To top it off, when I asked Carlos if he could do the job for $300 which is still high, he tells me I can only take $43 off. This is absolutely not true, you can take any amount off (your the plumber). We only got Senior Citizen discount (we didn't even get Veteran's discount or for the plumber being 2 hours late from our original appointment schedule. I was disappointed for the amount of money we paid of $380 and the tail assembly in the middle of the sink wasn't even changed, they just left the one that was there (not even changed to a new one). I know plumbers would like to make money, but I just felt as a owner Carlos took advantage of overcharging us on a job that cost much less than what we were charged. We were quoted $180, and Carlos charged us $380. Wasn't happy with the cost for my dad because he is a Senior Citizen, but what goes around comes around. One thing I give credit to Carlos and his helper is that they were fast in completing there job. I asked for a lower rate because in the end, I still thought $380 was still too high. If you quoted my father at $400 and deduct $50, it would be $350 was hoping for original quote of $180, but was willing to go no more than $300. In the end, was thankful Carlos went to $380 but still too high and should've been compensated lower since didn't get Veterans discount nor a discount for Carlos being 2 hrs late.

I'm writing this review because C&C Plumbing just LOST a customer. My 1st and LAST time ever doing business with them. The plumber Carlos was professional, friendly & did a great job repairing my leaking faucets. But the customer service I received from Michelle over the phone was horrible! She was rude & impatient when I was simply asking her questions regarding payment after the job was completed. It's too bad Michelle ruined it for an entire company. I would not recommend doing business with them if Michelle is still on as their telephone customer service representative.
