By Derek S.May 16, 2024obtain bids, execute contracts, provide material and labor take offs$2,500,000
Owner Cameron Ames entered into a written agreement and took $5000 in advance to work certain days and perform certain tasks . Mr Ames misrepresented his qualifications and was dishonest about the days he was allegedly working. Further Mr Ames was caught lying NUMEROUS times regarding work that was nit completed, take offs and paperwork that he could not and did not do. It was so bad that a private investigator was hired to confirm him working for others on unrelated job sites during agreed company work times. Mr Ames completed ZERO of the agreed work and would not return ANY of the monies that were advanced. Complaints have been filed with the Az Registrars of Contractors office and with his bonding company. This mans is a liar and will rip you off. DO NOT hire Cameron Ames or Cambium Construction LLC

Do not trust this man. We hired him because he gave us a great bid, promised top quality work, and we go to the same church so we thought we could trust him. However, he royally screwed us over; I cannot imagine what he is capable of doing to a stranger.
We have paid him 35k out of 42k and in the 4 months since we started renovations, he is still not done with our master shower, stairs, baseboards, door trims, 4 bathroom vanities, mirrors, fixtures, debris left in our garage, AND HE HAS WALKED AWAY FROM THE JOB. The only thing done is our flooring and that is because his subcontractors did it. And we found out that he has yet to pay his subcontractors the second half of what he owes them. Every time we ask him when a particular part of the project will be complete, his response is always “tomorrow” and he has never completed anything “tomorrow”. Do not trust this man with your hard-earned money.
It was always understood that the project would be paid in 4 installments. We have paid 3 installments. He now wants an advance on half of the final installment. There is no way we can pay this when 1) He hasn't been coming to work. He worked maybe 5 hours in July. And worked for one week in August for an hour or two a day. 2) He flooded our house into our basement and caused more damage. Such a headache. And he still had the audacity to demand more payment before fixing it. 3) He hasn't kept his promises of finishing the shower "tomorrow" or the baseboard "tomorrow" etc. Too many broken promises!! 4) We asked for receipts to show proof that the money for materials was used appropriately and he said NO. Why???? Red flags, red flags, red flags.
Because we refused to pay more money in advance, he has WALKED AWAY. Ya'll, we go to church with this guy. My house is in ruins.
Has he given me the material he owes me for the stairs, bathroom vanities, and shower, etc.? NO.
Has he given me the receipts for anything? NO.
Has he given me a refund? NO.
Has he paid his subcontractors what he owes them? NO.
Complaints have been filed with the AZ Registrars of Contractors. We are trying to mediate but it has been so difficult to try to get him to do the right thing and finish the work we already paid him for. We have been lied to so many times. Please save your money, your home, and your time and find someone you can trust to do the actual work.
