I am writing to formally express my concerns regarding the complete basement remodel and new porch that this company recently completed for me. Unfortunately, I have encountered numerous issues with the quality of the work performed, which have persisted since the projects were finalized.

Despite my attempts to reach out for assistance in scheduling repairs under warranty, I have been unable to receive a response. On several occasions, representatives have visited to assess the damages; however, no further action has been taken. I was informed that your company no longer handles this aspect of business; however, I believe it is important to honor warranty commitments for work that was completed.

Regrettably, my experience has led me to view your organization's reliability and quality standards as lacking. Additionally, I have noticed that some of the outside contractors you employ deliver subpar workmanship. Do not go with this company unless you want to be ripped off.

Tree fell on house. Fix front porch. Roof. 2nd floor bedroom and living room walls
    $400,000

The short answer it's taken over 90 thousand dollars and 22 months for Car5/Kustom to completely destroy my home. It's uninhabitable. Here's the long answer.
August 7th 2020, i was attacked and wound up with a traumatic brain injury. August 10, 2020, a huge tree fell and damaged the front portion of my home. I didn't understand what was happening or what to do. I had no one close by that could help me. I told this to my insurance agent and asked for his help. He recommended Cat5 Restoration/Kustom as they had done some work with State Farm in the past. I told Jake Gerritsen( Cat5) and the state farm adjuster about the brain injury and my cognitive limitations. When the tree bounced off the roof both double entry doors imploded. They only boarded 1/2 and taped a sheet of plastic on the other half. Sat that way for months...rodents, feral cats, bugs, squirrels, etc roamed freely in and out of the house. Anyone could have walked in. Tarps on roof not secure. Water leaking through ceiling. Nothing else was done until May of 2021. He moved everything out of the house and put it into their storage. Nothing further done until September when a shoddy subcontractor started to demo the walls and ceilings upstairs. They worked when they felt like it. No care taken to protect anything. Pulled down the ceilings with the light fixtures and fans still attached. Water still leaking in through the roof and the garbage drums being used to catch it were close to overflowing. October 2021 he took off the top of the house: roof, attic, attic floors, dormers. Never a full crew. Never a full work week. Laid some kind of old woven "tarp" flat across roof. No pitch. The tarp didn't reach all the way across, about an inch short across the back of the house. No hurry to work. A heavy storm came through. The tarp failed and rainwater flooded the entire 2 story house and basement. The house is a shell. Only studs and now buckled hardwoodvfloors. Whole house has to be rewired. Plumbing repairs. All original, unpainted, 110 year old oak trim destroyed. No attempt to save anything. Lost everything that was in the basement. Even stole an unopened 10 gallon pail of fence paint and one of those big buckets on wheels with the wringer and the mop that goes with it. Furnace, water heater, wash machine, freezer, all Christmas stuff, bar, keepsakes, gone. The final straw was the cheap 90% efficiency furnace he talked about ordering to replace my top of the line furnace. I fired them. It's hard to get someone to take over this mess. State Farm is delaying things worrying about what cat5 is owed. They've already been paid close to $80,000 to destroy my house. Now they're calling me to pay them another storage fee for all my personal property. I've about reached the limits of my policy so I'm wondering where I'll live. I hope they're proud of taking advantage of me while I was trying to function after being battered by a patient, dealing with a new traumatic brain injury, no longer being able to work as an RN, and having a tree crash through my home. No house, no money, no job.

I found these individuals to be shady in their work and providing proper materials as outlined in their quotes, they substituted substandard, low quality material and performed with marginal construction skill. I also found their quotes, after the fact, to be 50-100% higher than competitors doing the same scope of work, as we had to have it all re-done. After reopening the project, many things as outlined in their quote were never completed.

I would not recommend this organization to anyone, rip-off artists.
