I don't recommend paying Cliff until your project is finished down to the last stroke of paint and you are completely satisfied. If you are negotiating a contract for a new home, I highly recommend a significant hold back of the final payment be negotiated to incentive Cliff to remain attentive to details. Once paid he completely stopped responding to calls and messages and has left a list of about 7 small but not inconsequential items undone, some of which will cost money out of pocket to complete or correct, such as a broken sprinkler head. The small project to finish out a couple of rooms was initially quoted at about 5 weeks, but took over two months to complete and much of the coordination of subcontractors as well as all of the attention to details had to be done by us, the homeowners. Cliff was useful in providing phone numbers for good guys to do the work, but not so much on oversight or following through.
