  Absolutely do not use them! Same experience as others. Pushed me to give money to start a project, and never did the work. They did start, but due to “health issues” and going back and for to Hawaii, I was told he couldn’t finish. Because materials were so expensive he was then trying to sneakily charge me more money since he couldn’t do the job and spent the money I gave him almost a year prior. I told him to give me money back and he wouldn’t. They then trespassed and took forms that were in my property for 9 months and then filled in the work they did to level out for the fence line so I had to have someone else do it.

  In addition, the work he had done for me previously was wrong - water floods into my garage, and the widening of my driveway and literally crumbling because they did it when it was too cold. Don’t use him. He moved and I can’t serve him papers because I can’t find him right now. If anyone has his info for address, tell me how to get it so I can finish small claims court.

  Be aware doing business or give cash deposits to unlicensed individual(s) who may not know correct building codes and do not uphold their promises.

  Ika Palei (aka: Ikamanu Posoni Palei) allegedly doing business under CM Concrete as per his add (owned by his cousin Maka Taueli) asked for $800 deposit on my front step job and actually did show up. Later on I found out that Ika had no business license and CM concrete business license has been recently revoked as per https://dopl.utah.gov/. Search all contractors on this state website! Although the job was to first rip out existing and form/pour new walkway/steps, he started forming over existing walkway which did not make any sense. Steps were formed off center and one of the raisers was at 10" vs. the state max of 8". I became concerned that this job will not get done to the state standards which would result in a failed city inspection. When I told him the city would have to inspect the work, he became noticeably nervous and said he does not like to do jobs that are inspected by the city. Feeling this project was not going well or would have to be potentially redone to pass inspection, I asked him what it would take for him to walk away from the job. We have agreed that I'll pay him $130 for his 4hrs on the job (although I had nothing to show for it) and his materials of $120 and he would give me back $550M of the original $800. He indicated he did not have the cash to give it back to me. Long story short, although promised multiple times to return the $550 and after 2 months of going back and forth, he said that when he spoke with the owner of the company (Maka) they felt that I was not entitled to my refund. I have not received any portion of the $550 back yet. I have reported both of them to the state for doing business w/o current license and starting a small claims court case against Ika and CM Concrete.

  DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR BUSINESS! We hired this company to do concrete work for us and they took our money and ran. The owner is Maka Taueli and he is the most deceiving, dishonest person. He required 1/2 down, which we paid and began prep work. They cleared a few weeds/dead grass with shovels, dumped the dirt in my yard, and left. Nothing was leveled or fully prepped. I received promise after promise that they’d come and finish the job, which they never did. I was given every excuse in the book as to why they weren’t coming. He never once contacted me first. Every time I had to contact him and ask where he was and when he was showing up. After a month and a half of excuses I told him I wanted 1/2 of what I gave him back and he agreed. He has yet to return my money, 2 months later. I hired another company and they were able to get the job done in 1 day.
  I’m starting the small claims process to get my money back. This guy is a joke.
