  A number of words can truly describe the quality and service of Compass Construction. Trash, unreliable, inconsiderate, unorganized, dollar store quality dog and pony show.

  First off, the communication was abysmal. You send an email to ask a question and you were lucky if you got a response at all. The owner had his daughter answering emails (when we did get a response) while living in another country. There was nothing but excuses for the delays, family, work, etc. I gave the benefit of the doubt, but it got old quickly.

  Louis said that they would take care of all the paperwork and permits and would have it submitted by a certain date. Well, I decided to check up on his word, and surprise, no one has any paperwork turned into them. Needless to say I had to take care of everything myself. The drawing that they submitted to me for the plot survey looked like it was drawn by a 1st grader.

  Now trying to get a solid start date from Louis, or anyone at the company for that matter was almost impossible (refer to communication section).

  Once they did get started.... that's when it all just got worse. They show up, say they have to remove one of the fence posts to get into the back yard with a front end loader. OK, they are going to remove it with a strap so that they don't ruin the cedar fence post. NOPE!! Let's rip it out with a huge chain!!! So the first item damaged.

  They work through the day making sure to get everything ready for concrete. Mind you, I am watching all this happen on camera. I get home from work and find numerous things damaged on my house. The siding was peeled back. Keep in mind that I had asked them way before the work started if I needed to hire a siding person to come and remove the siding so that there is no chance of damaging anything as the siding color is discontinued.

  This was one of the issues of getting an answer from them. When I finally did get an answer, I was told not to worry they would take care of everything.
  So now the siding is damaged, they framed the wrong size steps because Louis couldn't remember what he was supposed to do, and I got a steel chain shredded cedar fence post.

  So I have to take the next day off of work to supervise this group because of all the damage and mistakes made that needed to be fixed. Come to find out, they didn't bring the correct materials to create the proper rounded corners on my stairs; they had to piece together the framing for the curves on the patio with chewed gum and duct tape it seemed like. There was lots of swearing in Spanish and grumbling.

  During this entire mistake fixing to try and be ready when the cement truck showed up. Louis comes up to me asking me to give him more money. Saying that he needs the money, he knows I am a nice guy etc. NOPE.
  Attitudes just got worse from there. At this point he was just in a rush it seemed like. I will just let the pictures speak for themselves.

  Needless to say the "fix" to my siding was atrocious. He got mad at me toward the end when I wouldn't hand a check over until everything was completed and that of course didn't sit well. I was going to deduct the money for the damages, but my wife wanted him gone and honestly so did I. Besides sitting down and drinking while on my property, they left their trash behind as well. Water bottles were just thrown on the ground and left.

  Now that the company has dropped off the face of the planet. A search turns up nothing, and the only results are this listing and a BBB page with complaints against the company.

  So if you run into Louis, tell him to get off your property. If you know someone hiring his company, save them the trouble and get them to go someplace else.

  Stamped Concrete Patio

  We worked with Compass Construction in Summer of 2020. At first, it seemed great and the prices were right what we were looking for, but it soon became an awful experience to the point where we had to use different phones/phone numbers to get a hold of them because they wouldnt pick up for us. They left the job unfinished and avoided our calls thereafter. We reported them to Angii's list and put through a complaint and request for a mediation; however, Compass also avoided Angii's communication requests and was removed from their site. Do not work with Compass Construction. I have never been disrespected the way they have disrespected us in my entire life and I am left spending my own money to have the job finished. Make sure if you do work with them, you do NOT pay up front and only pay once the job is completely done. They will take your money and leave with it.
