ZERO STARS. -1000000000 STARS. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS MAN OR "SO-CALLED" COMPANY. THE EXPERIENCE WITH THIS THIEF WAS ONE FOR THE BOOKS. HE SWEET TALKED MY 70 YR OLD MOTHER INTO PAYING FOR JOBS HE NEVER COMPLETED. WHEN CONTACTING MR. GREEN, HE EITHER IGNORED OUR CALLS, SENT US TO VOICEMAIL, AND IF HE DID ANSWER, HE GAVE MANY MANY EXCUSES. HE FLAT OUT STOLE $4000.00 FROM A HARD WORKING 70 YR OLD SINGLE LADY AND TOOK COMPLETE ADVANTAGE OF HER. I WANT TO ANNOUNCE TO ANYONE READING THIS....IF ANYONE HAS BEEN TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF, BY THIS MAN, PLEASE EMAIL ME, WE NEED TO GET TOGETHER AND BE ONE FORCE AGAINST HIM TO GET OUR MONEY BACK. MY EMAIL IS [email protected]. IF THIS PERSON OWES YOU MONEY OR LABOR, PLEASE CONTACT ME!!!
ANYONE ELSE LOOKING FOR CONTRACTORS, DO NOT, I MEAN DO NOT HIRE GREENWORKS INC. DAVID GREEN IN CHESILHURST/ATCO. HE WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY AND NOT CARE. HIS WIFE/PARTNER SAYS SHE IS A GOD FEARING WOMAN, WHO SIGNED THE CHECK AND KEPT OUR MONEY. AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS TO GET OUR MONEY RETURNED.....WE ARE AT THE LAST RESORT LEGALLY.

A charmer who knows how to work people, not run a business. Quick to take your money (to cover half the project), then follows-up with a cat/mouse game to actually get any work done. After discussing specs for a walkway & taking the $$$$ to start the job he said would only take 2 - 3 days, the games began. He sent out 3 men who dug out the old mulch & dirt. About a wk. later they worked 2 hours pouring stones, driving back & forth to get more, put them down, and left saying they'd be back shortly. Never showed. A few days later I called David - no answer. Again that evening - no answer. Left messages asking him to return my call - nothing. About a wk. later, some of his guys showed up with the sand, poured & leveled it. At that point I questioned 3 areas they had included that David & I had discussed in detail that was to be designed differently. They had no clue - David had never told them about it, & those areas could not be undone. They put in a couple hours, then said they were leaving to go get the pavers and would be right back to complete the job that day (11am). They never showed. That led to a cat/mouse game of phone calls trying to speak with David about getting this job done. I called his cell leaving messages asking he return my call. Few days later his cell 'was full' - not able to accept messages. I called his home where his wife said David was 'too embarrassed' to tell me he was having a problem with his men not showing up for work. They had all quit.I understood, said I'd work with him as long as I was kept informed while he was looking for other employees. She asked to give him a little time - he was working on.it, and I agreed. He would call in 2 days. After a wk. went by & no contact from David, I left messages about twice a day asking he return my call. Nothing.. I had been living with a swath of sand along my house at this point. Had to walk on it to get to trash cans & the water supply for side yard, Impossible not to track it through the house after walking on it. Real fun when still wet from rain! This "2 day job" had turned into a 4 wk. nightmare. I finally had enough. Left a message I was cancelling the work order, tired of being lied to, begging for a return call, being ignored & constantly disappointed. I was done. I'd be sending a formal cancellation of work notice in the mail - & at this point not even think of calling me. Unlike Mr. Green - I mean what I say. I was DONE. THAT'S when I finally got some attention. A few days later, before 7 am, his whole crew showed up (same guys who had quit) & started to work. I went out immediately & told them to pack up their shovels & go home. I had told David I was done. They went out to their truck, & within 2 minutes my phone was ringing. How about that - after weeks of begging for a little attention, David now remembered not only his customer who handed him over a thousand dollars the 1st day he came to look at this 'easy 2 day job' - but her phone # too! And miraculously, his cell was working again - all in one memorable day. I was not impressed. I had told David to not call me. I was DONE. After calling 3-4 times repeatedly & my not answering, he finally realized some people actually do mean what they say. After I emailed him advising him I was going to file a complaint with the Board of Consumer Affairs, he said he was mailing a check for $800 for work that had not been completed. That was almost 6 months ago -- I'm still waiting. My purpose of writing this review is not to whine about money lost. It was well worth losing $800 to just end the constant stress & frustration of dealing with that mess. I have never liked to see people screwed. I was a business owner. You don't treat people this way & enjoy a good reputation in the community. On a professional level, I find Mr. Green's behavior inexcusable. On a personal level -- extremely disappointing, in that I genuinely liked & put my trust in him. I'd never experienced anything like this with previous contractors. You can't hit a home-run every time you step up to the plate, but just be advised - if you play ball with David, he's likely to steal your home-plate.

    Town hose rehab (925 sf)
    150 days

    Where do I start.

I too was recommended by a business person who had just mentioned that Mr. Green had just completed a job at one of his sites. Come to find out the renovation was for his Green Works relatives of which from what I understand went well.

We then employed Green Works to rehab a unit at the end of January 2016 we purchased as a rental property, and within the contract, signed the first week in February 2016, we were told that it would take 2 weeks depending on the availability of material. 4 months later the job was still open. Tile was laid which we did not pick out, paint job incomplete, laminate flooring was installed but not the one we picked out, floor boards underneath in bedroom and hall were not leveled and squeaking, carpet pads was placed and not secured on the steps where we asked for a runner, stair way railing not corrected , kitchen light hanging by one screw. Two windows were removed for repair and when I went to the unit at the end of the week, nothing was there in the space of the removed windows and the unit was freezing. I put the panels that were in the bedrooms leaning up against the wall in the windows. I then noticed that the heat on all the floors were at their max and I turned them down. I received a heating bill in March for $550.00. Also the hot water stem in the bath tube was not fixed.

During the process we requested several meetings and asked why we were not being communicated with about the status and was told "all we do is complain that's why." When asked about the tile we did not pick out we were told that he made an executive discussion to install what is there. We then requested a meeting with Mr. Green after giving a deadline for completion and he sent his sons. We told his sons to have Mr. Green contact us so we can meet with him to discuss our grievances and to date no response.

Mr. Green sold us a Promise he did not keep..

We had to hire other contractors to correct the mess that was left.

I could go on and on.

    It is now MAY 2016.

    Buyer Beware

David Green was referred to us via a family friend. Having seen his work in their home, we reached out to have him give us an estimate for two separate projects in our home. It took numerous calls and several weeks to arrange a visit to our home. Upon visiting our home, Mr.Green promised to provide us with initial drafts and estimates for the projected work within a week. Five weeks later we received an email with ideas for one of the projects, as we had changed our minds about having him complete both renovations in our home. Fast forward four weeks, we were finally discussing down payments and start dates. A project which was supposed to take up to 4 weeks maximum, lasted over eight weeks. We were provided with excuse after excuse as to why work was being delayed. We believe he used our payments to fund other projects he was working on at the time, and when asked to provide proof of these so called product delays, he could not supply ANY documentation from merchants who were allegedly holding our previously ordered items hostage. Mr. Green became very belligerent when questioned, and repeatedly ignored our calls, usually sending one of his workers out to touch up paint or complete some minimal task in an attempt to appease us. Prior to completion of the project, he became very "busy" and rarely showed his face at our home. In a last ditch effort to avoid facing us, he sent a representative out to pick up the final payment for the project. We never received any work permits with any of our receipts, and when we called numerous times to inquire about the permits which were included in the cost of project, he began cursing and threatening us, stating we were harassing him! Needless to say, our municipality confirmed our worst fear that the proper permits had not been completed for our renovation. And a year later, one of our cabinets is now dangling from our wall.... Spend your money elsewhere!
