We contacted DEC Construction in July of this year (2017) and received an estimate for vinyl windows and a complete exterior paint. The bid was $11375.00. We asked about a start and completion date, we were told 8/14 start and complete by 9/2. the house was pressure washed on 8/14, at that time the windows were ordered by DEC and arrived 3 weeks later, however, some were ordered in the wrong size and had to be reordered the they arrived after another 3 weeks. The sliding door opened from the wrong side, but rather than to wait yet another 3 weeks, we accepted it. To make a long story short, the quality of work was mediocre at best, they tried to convince us one coat of paint is just as good as two, the contract allowed us to choose colors for the house but because we didn't stay with the original colors we were charged an additional $425.00. Most of the trim received only one coat although they charged us for 2. We will do a lot of touch up and paint on areas they didn't paint at all. End result was poor workmanship, increase price over bid by almost $500, the two week job was complete (by their standards) after almost 8 weeks with no additional requests by us. I will not recommend this company to anyone.
