  Complete home tear down

  $650,000

  Distinctive designs is an amazing company to work with. They are on budget AND on time (how many people can say that about their construction process?)!

  If those alone are not enough, Stuart and his crew are incredible to work with. They go out of their way to make sure that you are getting what you want, how you want it, before, during and after construction. We thought they were so great we recommended them to my in-laws!

  We have an entirely brand new two-story home. Thanks to Stuart, Eddie, Miguel, Hugo, Gerardo, Tyler, Kim and the rest of the awesome, incredible, magnificent crew! You people amaze us and we appreciate you for what you did for us! Thank you!

  Full remodel with addition

  $240,000

  Distinctive Design did a full remodel of our 1960s era house with a master bedroom addition. The work went so quickly that we needed to compromise on low quality materials that Stuart recommended. Stuart also used scare tactics and time pressure to get more money for an electrical system upgrade which has resulted in one arc fire. After the crew had left the site we had to pay additional crews to cleanup the site because he refused to come back even though the contract was not complete. Stuart has been threatening to ever since we posted negative comments in social media.

  The worst company to do business with Stuart corns and his company distinctive design a rip off artist I contracted with him to build two foundations for two new homes and he screwed both of them up one he put in the wrong place and the other one has to be re-engineered after $110,000 later I’m still paying for his mistakes he is the worst of the worst Stay far away from this person i’ve had to spend over $20,000 to remove excess dirt because he never followed the plans I think he’s just incompetent when it comes to building from the ground up I will have to take this man to court because right now I am out over $38,000 because of his mistakes and all he does is deny deny deny and when we Argued about a problem he called me the N-word just not professional at all.

  Full house remodel: Kitchen, 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms + layout changes and extensions, etc...

  Would highly recommend Stuart to my friends and family. There were many positive highlights working with Stuart. I wanted to list them below so that it’s easier to read:

  Highlights:

  - Treated us like family and our project like it was his own house.

  - Hit his deadline (I’ve heard so many horror stories about contractors in the bay area taking as much as a 6 months and even up to a year over their initial time estimate).

  - Whenver issues came up (and with a project as big as ours, things are bound to come up), he always made sure we walked away with a plan that we were happy with.

  - High quality work

  - His crew is as caring and diligent as he is. Especially our project foreman, Efren. Efren is the best!

  - He ended up doing a bunch of extra work on the project without charging us for it.

  - Has really good recommendations. My wife and I did a lot of the design work ourselves and Stuart was there anytime we needed his input. His years of experience as not only a builder and engineer really came through when we needed help picking practical but good looking materials. He spent hours with us at different vendors just to help us make the right choice.

  - Very responsive. Even when he was pre-occupied and couldn’t answer immediately he’ll let you know and text/call you back asap.

  - Stands behind his work. Anything that was missed or a mistake that was made (even when it wasn’t his or his crew’s fault), he made sure it was fixed.

  - Spent months (probably about 15 different meetings) meeting us at the project site before any paperwork was even signed to help plan our project out as detailed as we wanted with no charge.

  - Met with us at inconvenient times (for him) for months, just to accomodate the fact that we were commuting to the project site from far away.

  Stewart was very professional and did a great job him and his crew did stamp concrete for me and did a beautiful job. I would recommend him to anybody. They were done in a timely manner. I would use them again for the next project

  160' of block retaining wall, stamped concrete driveway, new lawn

  Excellent value =Great job

  I contracted with Tony Ramos for hardscape (stamped concrete), a large retaining wall and new landscape (front and rear lawn). The job was done as contracted and discussed. Tony was present during most of the work. His crew was timely and worked hard to keep on schedule. They did what was asked and were flexible and affordable with my changes. I would certainly use Tony Ramos (and his crew) again.
